Who has experience with the VaporGenie Pipe Lighter? It is available at www.vaporgenie.com for 40 US.

I have a Vapman butane lighter. After ignition the fire beam sometimes spontaneously extinguishes. Also the lighter flame gets irregular and loses power when kept in a vertical downward position. So a better one is needed.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Never used that particular lighter. But if you go to any electronics, plumbing or welding store they should have small butane torches for soldering that work well for about 15 or 20 bucks

Yep, I will second the turboflame.
Haven't had a problem since I started using it.

Mine is actually a rebranded one. It looks like the Turboflame gets sold under other brand names as well.
I will look it up

Zico t 38 is the same as Turboflame Arc. (1st pic)
I use the Zico M 22 (2nd pic), and I absolutely love it. Never goes out when using it on my gvg, and it's big so you don't often have to refill it.

I also have the arc turboflame, works great upside down for long periods, and the switch is easy on the thumb to hold on for a long time too.

Cheers!

The reason I prefer my little soldering torch is because it has a collar that controls the induction rate. It can be adjusted from a small (clean) candle flame up to a 1600C rocket, and it has a huge butane tank (and I got it for $6.95) Big grin

I knew someone would make that point. No it doesn't. That's why I've modified it with the steel plate on the bottom so it can't possibly fall over or burn whatever you sit it on (but if you hold onto it bad shit might happen, although I usually have the presence of mind to turn it off).

Ive gotten away with it so far, but I guess that's just another reason they call me a hyperspace cowboy Big grin

Bought the arc after seeing the recommendations here. It's a really good lighter. I've also bought some knockoffs, but they're not as good, so I'd also recommend the arc.

Thank you for your input.

I bought the Turbo flame Arc Lighter too. Hopefully this one will help me getting into hyperspace.

As soon as I have used it, I will let you know.

I seem to be one of those when trying new things, they just do not work out well.

When I did my first MHRB extraction and re crystallized my spice I lost half of it.

When I used my GVG for the first time with 10 mg DMT there was no burning smell or noticeable smoke.

When I used my liquid pad for the first time it constantly capsized.

Please do not understand me wrong, I am not complaining. Just telling my experiences.

And guess what? I have a new mystery.

Last few hours I tested the Turbo flame Arc Lighter. Filled it with butane from a container that says ‘no impurities’. Waiting two minutes and slowly and carefully I pressed and moved the ignition switch. Exactly according to instructions. But no flame appears. Having repeated this many times, no flame.

What might be the cause?

I've used that lighter but not with GVG/DMT. It's just a normal lighter but with a longer flame, I always recommend a torch for DMT.

Having made another attempt today to get a flame out of the Turbo flame Arc Lighter, I finally succeeded. The lighter never operates well the first try. Only after three or four times moving the ignition switch a flame appears. And to have the flame burning, I have to keep pressing my thumb insanely hard on the switch. Very strange and uncomfortable.

Hmm strtman, it doesn't sound typical of a Turboflame / Zico lighter.

Can I ask if it is genuine? Or a knock off?

It is genuine.

I just tried the lighter again. First four times no flame, only the sound of escaping gas. Fifth time a flame occurred.

One might think these failures are due to moisture or the cold, but there is room temperature here.

i dont know if this will work in your case but have you tried bleeding your lighter?
i think that means getting excess oxygen that might be trapped in the lighter.

try pressing the fill valve with a pointy object and see if air comes out. you wanna do this until the lighter gas starts coming out.

hope that helps
