The Nexus wiki on THH lists tetrahydroharmine as being "soluble in alcohol", this may be slightly misleading as it is not completely soluble in alcohol according to Caymanchem below which lists the solubility of THH as 1.5mg per 1ml in room temp alcohol, this would mean only 15mg dissolves in 100ml.

I have read the solubility of harmine in alcohol is also 1.5mg per ml, this would mean that only 15mg of harmine dissolves into 100ml of room temp alcohol.

The solubility of THH and harmine appear to be near equal, though I'm sure you can still get more THH to dissolve into alcohol then you could harmine.

The data is sparse out there.

My original post was about seperating the two based on the nexus wiki data, thinking that thh could be seperated from harmine based on solubility data, but this no longer appears to be the case.

Can anyone else find more solubility data on THH vs harmine in alcohol? There is very little out there.

I'm unclear on a few things here.
So, it was purified harmine used rather than a harmine/harmaline mix?
Wouldnt harmalines ethanol solubility be intermediate between the two or does the N-H of THH really change it that much?
You have no numbers for THH's ethanol solubility? What makes you think its more soluble?
Doesnt harmine have a rather steep solubility curve in ethanol? That would be a factor that would certainly need to be attended to (as you hinted)
Neither of your compounds were verified in any way before the separation?

What makes you so sure your recovered THH-plus-some-harmine contains all of the alleged THH?
Was the 'good source many years ago' the same 'good' source that was selling harmine as THH many years ago?
