Has anyone else experienced permanent changes to your weed highs after a couple times of trying DMT?

I have not broken through (it has gotten intense and to entity contact, but I don't think fully broken through), but I have attempted Aya (no effect, didn't hold down), had a great experience on Yopo, and have vaped it a few times with only the first one or two being reality completely warping.

Anyway, for the vaping, for the first time I was stoned out of my mind on brownies. Around the same time I had a really bad experience on 2c-e and the next time I got high I saw fractal patterns and full blown reality shifting, faces, everything. --Edit* It is worth pointing out that my experience with 2c-e and DMT were both around the same time, an unsuccessful Ayahuasca attempt actually prior). It was all really scary and I thought it was because of the 2c-e.

After each time I smoked weed, the effect died down, at least from the scariness. I realized that I still had the effect but I just didn't have all these things flying in my face. The other day I was high (pot) and I had this sudden realization that the warping of my reality was exactly like DMT, and much less like the 2c-e.

When I tried 2c-e, I had a horrible 7 hour ego death filled with angry bugs and mice and everything terrible you could think of. The whole time, I kept thinking "I am a shitty person." After a few weeks of mentally recovering from that I told myself I would identify what I was being shitty about and fix it and attempted to start being more aware of all aspects of the world.

But the other day, I realized it was exactly like DMT, except I was shifting in and out (I could concentrate and realize I'm on a couch, but I could concentrate and see fractals). I concentrated on an entity (entities?) that I spoke to on Yopo and I asked them if I was getting to be a better person (a concern brought up by 2c-e, but an ever-present concern nevertheless). I heard this voice that said, "You're doing well. Sign your name in metal ink."

I pondered it for a few minutes, then realized that I was being told it didn't matter how good of a person I was being if I didn't stick to it permanently throughout my entire life.

Anyway...

My friends think I am lying (they don't say it, but it is pretty obvious) or just crazy. One of my friends called it an "acid flashback." Also, none of my friends have tried DMT or really any psychedelic. One has tried 2c-e but such a low dose that there was no effect, and tried the Aya with me but held it for about .1 seconds and experienced nothing. TL;DR: When I get high enough, I can focus and see DMT-esque hallucinations both open and close eyed. This is only after consuming DMT in a few forms a few times, twice vaped, no breakthroughs. Entity contact was on Yopo. I don't know if this happens to everyone, or if it happened because I tried DMT while stoned, or if it is completely unrelated.

Thoughts? Similar experiences?

This is normal for many of us, don't worry at all. If it's a problem and you're getting the weed anxiety, just ground yourself and funnel your stoned energy into something creative/flowing like art/music/yoga/meditation/writing/reading/poi/nature/etc. I've struggled with weed anxiety my whole life and have always had psychedelic effects from it, but there is a lot of ways to learn to work around it...The easiest of which might just be to smoke small hits spread out over the course of an hour or so.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Totally! Maybe not quite as intense as you are describing but I recently started a thread discussing something very similar! I'll link it for you:

Marijuana and the "Night Visions" (Questions)

Basically, I have noticed a lot of changes in my cannabis experiences, lately. I have been experimenting with DMT for a while now and the changes in the cannabis high have only recently become apparent. Maybe I am just paying more attention...Very happy

But as universecannon said, it is pretty commonplace for this to happen. So if anything, you are not alone in this!

It's great hearing that from both of you guys. I think it has to do with the way I paid attention to being stoned as well -- I feel like I could've just concentrated months ago and realized that DMT changed something. Edit: Anxiety is also a big problem for me, and weed anxiety exists strongly for me as well, but simultaneously once I'm lost in it all my anxiety disappears. I'll try to smoke over a slow course next time. I typically just go for it in a 15 minute period.

The Grateful One -- it's exactly as you described in your post. Beautiful visions of landscapes, (for me) tunnels, patterns, universes, etc, but I can cognitively "unplug" my mind and get up to go get a glass of water.

Glad this is commonplace. It really opens up a whole new dynamic if you think about it (but I guess all drugs do). I'm going to try and meditate next while high and see where it takes me.

a lot of us find that harmalas also help tremendously if taken orally before smoking cannabis, just make sure you're not taking any medications/drugs that are a problem with harmalas

I was a very heavy cannabis smoker for many years before I really started to get into psychedelics so the changes that came were quickly apparent for me. The strange thing is that I never had anxiety from cannabis until after numerous experiences with Salvia, Psilocybe mushrooms and DMT. I'll get it sometimes now but usually only from smoking way too much of a powerful sativa strain. Salvia has had the most pronounced effects on all of my other drug experiences, but it's also the plant I've worked most extensively with.

I'll just parrot what has already been said: it's fairly normal, you're not alone, and it may actually dissipate over time if you were to stop using psychedelics and just stick to cannabis. (this is speculation based on the experience of someone I know)

I myself had a heroic dose of the good ol' fungis that consequently lead my marijuana intoxications to be very anxious as well. I'll just throw my two cents into what may work for you that worked for myself when smoking. Like an earlier commenter said, engage in something while being in that state of mind. I recommend riding a bicycle or going on a walk and listen to music that you feel is pleasing and warm to the heart. For me it worked immensely better than sitting down inactively. Give it a few tries if you haven't!
my loopy guess is that t. mckenna is off hopping about hyperspace wielding a butterfly net analog, all the while collecting the most peculiar.

After I smoked DMT, all of my weed highs have had elements of a DMT trip in there. It seems to have permanently changed the nature of the visuals I get from marijuana as well. Before I smoked DMT, visuals from weed mostly consisted of tight "bands" of colors (mostly green and blue) that overlayed my visual field. Now there's lots of oranges, browns, reds, and other "Earth" colors present, along with the geometry of the visuals changing from tight and circular looking bands, to moving grids.

Also, whenever I get an anxiety attack from weed, the visuals are definitely heavily DMT inspired. Lots of Mexican and ancient Aztec motifs, lots of faces in my CEVs, and a strange sense of something "being there". Previous to smoking DMT the visuals that came during an anxiety attack were mostly geometric shapes flowing into one another, which was really unique in that I haven't seen anything of the sort during (or after) my psychedelic travels.
The stories and information I post here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.

I missed this post before but I most definitely second this! For me, the anxiety/paranoia usually felt from cannabis completely disappears after administering harmalas and cannabis together. It has become one of my absolute favorite combinations!

Sometimes I just sprinkle 15-30mg of freebase harmalas (per bowl) sandwiched between the MJ if I don't want to take it orally.
