Where I'm varying from the tek is the very first step. In the "traditional" FASA (hah!), the MHRB is covered in CASA three times over several days. I'm a patient person, but I'm actually more anxious about having to decant the acetone, as it is supposed to remain dry, but will suck moisture out of the air as one fiddles around, trying to squeeze acetone out of however much root bark!
Now if the initial mass is reduced to DMT Citrate and whatever water-soluble compounds (dried completely perhaps with a pinch of drierite), I imagine the decanting/filtering would go alot more smoothly, and that the DMT Citrate would only need three brief, vigorous, washes with CASA, as opposed to several days' worth of steeping.
To me this all seems very logical and straightforward, but I'm no chemist so expert insight is appreciated.
