Hello fellow Nexians,

I have been a long time lurker on the Nexus, and would first off like to thank the Nexus community for being what it is. I've learned so much over the years by just reading other members' posts, teks, etc. To me, what distinguishes the Nexus from "similar" sites is:

1) The members' respectful attitudes towards each other and towards entheogens, and
2) An intelligent atmosphere that not only facilitates the sharing of technical/scientific know-how, but also motivates the independent researcher to ask questions, do experiments, and ultimately make further contributions to the specialized knowledge on this site.

So a bit about me. I am a very science-minded person, and in particular have always had a strong interest in physics and mathematics. In college I studied physics and math with a chemistry minor. Currently I am a graduate assistant working in an experimental biophysics lab.

As for how I ended up here. I tried LSD for the first time six or seven years ago. Two strong hits and it blew my mind to say the least, I'd done my research on it before I took it, but of course you can't really understand what psychedelics do until you take one. It was immediately obvious that this wasn't just some drug to get you high, it seemed to open parts of my mind that I didn't know existed (you all know the story).

Since then I continued experimenting with LSD and psilocybin mushrooms, later adding DMT and mescaline to the mix (thanks to you guys). These days I tend to only journey a couple times a year. Apart from having a very busy schedule, I tend to agree with McKenna's "rarely, in high doses" philosophy.

I am happy to be part of such a wonderful community of members, and I look forward to contributing what I can to the Nexus
