Hello Fellow Nexians,
Last night I did my first MHRB extraction using Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek ,
I used 50gr of MHRB and Zippo Lighter Fluid which I tested by pouring a bit out on clean glass and let it evaporate, It didn't leave any stain/smudge or anything so it evaporated clean. Plus, Instead of the Naptha being yellowish, It was clear like water.
The one and only thing that had me worried was the Caustic Soda that I used. In my country its quite difficult to find the pure white Lye. I was only able to find small household packs that are used for cleaning drains. Upon opening the package I noticed that the Caustic Soda was blue and that it had a aromatic smell, but the package did not mention anything about coloring or aroma, it just said Contains:Sodium Hydroxide(LYE)... Anyways I still used it hoping it wont affect the final product. When I added the Blue Lye to the mix everything went black just as Cyb's TEK mentions. Then I added the Naptha to the solution.
After a process of Shaking/Depressurizing/Warm Bathing/Settling, The Naptha bubbled its way to the top.


After collecting the Naptha, I placed it in a glass baking tray covered with saran wrap and put it straight into the freezer. Since I only had two glass trays I was only able to get two pulls. Here is a pic.



The one on the left was the second pull, the one on the right was the first and had become cloudy by the time the second one was ready for the freezer.
Tonight Im gonna drain the Naptha and collect the crystals. I will upload a picture for everyone to see.

Should of put both pulls togeather along with another 2 or 3 then evaporated half to 3 quarters then put in the freezer, how big were your pulls

Wish I thought of that before, but I will definitely keep it in mind for my next experiment.
Each pull was roughly 50ml of Naptha. I'll upload a picture of the crystals when I get back to the Lab in a couple of hours.

So I got back to the freezer, pulled out the two glass tray's, draining them of the Naptha and letting them sit in front of a fan. Here is two pics.

Then I scrapped up the crystals with a razor blade and collected them onto a piece of paper, in total it was approximately 0.4gr, it would have been more if I had done more pulls.


I also noticed a residue on the glass which I also scrapped up, but Im not sure if its DMT or not. I think its plant fat, If anyone has more information on this and if it is smokable or not please let me know.


Now all that is left is for me to test it. I will write a report by the end of this week to let everyone know how it goes. If anyone has any tips on how to store the crystals so that they remain potent please feel free to drop a comment.

That residue DOES contain DMT. Recrystallize by devolving in warm to hot naptha. And the gunk will stick to the bottom and the naptha will be loaded with your stuff just freeze to precipitate. Look to the tek's for a much better description than I just gave. My first attempt was nothing but that goo and after a re crystallize atop I had perfect white fluffy awesomeness. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for leaving a comment!!! I appreciate your input, and I will do as you say. Still haven't tried the spice yet but im pretty sure this week I will. I've been reading alot of different techinques used to do it and I guess im just trying to figure out which way is the best way to go...

You do plan on doing more pulls right?

Unfortunately Anrchy, I did not do extra pulls for this batch . But rest assured for the next one I will strive for a minimum of 4 pulls at least.. Thanks for your comment. Hopefully by tonight I will be able to take some time to write a report about my first Spice experience.

I do atleast 8 pulls. Should at least do 6. Why would you not? You might have tossed half of your yield by only doing 2 pulls.

I know 3rdI, I know...Im feeling terrible about it..

At the time Anrchy, I only had 2 containers. But as you may have seen in the previous comments I did not know that I could just throw all the pulls into one container allowing it to evaporate 3/4 as stated by sbc1, also I did not have enough naptha. Then I wasn't sure if the MHRB solution would spoil or not. If I had known I would have kept it until the next day to get a few more pulls out of it. I wont make the same mistake twice.

All you do is reuse the same naphtha for each consecutive pull. I pour each pull into a mason jar and let the freeze precip container dry. Then once i scrape everything up i take the naphtha in the mason jars and proceed with my next pulls until its all gone.

I dont evap anything. I use 100ml of solvent for 100g of bark. I now use 4 precip containers but most people use 2 anyways.

Hmm. I do 3.. sometimes 4 pulls. Typically after 3 I'd be lucky to recieve 50mg out of it..

I'll let it sit a day, a week, or two weeks. Shaking, stirring. Heated or not heated. I fully disbelieve I get anything out of the 4th pull.

I'll let my brew sit until my next extraction, and make the final pull to add prior to a fresh extraction (just in case).

That's not a bad method. For 100g bark I'd pull 3x 50-60ml and combine everything.

200g bark I pull 3x with 100ml . But I evap my solvent so I'm not trying to precip 300 ml @_@
