Please excuse the newness of myself to all this. I mean to offend no one and am learning as much as i can as i go.

That said. I am attempting my first Syrian rue extraction.
I have boiled and filtered 5 times now.
Filtered the remaining liquid 4 times through coffee filters.
Then attempted to make some Sodium Carbonate from BiCarb.
When i mixed this in it bubbled very slightly but appeared to do not much. Nothing like the pictures.
After awhile the powder sank.
So perhaps my seeds are bunk or perhaps my carb is not good.
So i purchased some real Carb and added this to my water.
I now have a top and bottom sediment layer with a fairly clear liquid in the middle.
Much clearer then before the orig attempt to precipitate.

Anyone have an idea what the heck is going on and how i should proceed from here?
I will go looking for a black light tomorrow btw.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The bottom layer is the harmalas so leave it in the fridge overnight then syphon off the liquid, dont throw it away.
Once you have separated you can put them in much less water to clean them. Separate again then dissolve in acidic water, filter, reduce if desired on heat. Base, syphon water, dry harmalas. Collect liquids left over then basify and leave in fridge for a few days.

this has happened to me loads of times, i just stired, allow to settle, syphon of the the liquid, continue washing/cleaning until desired purity is reached.
