Hello, I am an undergraduate researcher working on a study about the relationship between spiritual practice and mental health. While it's not a hugely popular field, early research has shown some interesting correlations between what a person's spiritual beliefs and practices are and their state of mental health and well being.
In that vein, in addition to 'standard' spiritual practices (meditation, prayer, service attendance, etc), I'm also asking questions about entheogenic use of psychedelics. I'm hopping to build off the work of both the crews at Johns-Hopkins (who have found psilocybin to be an effective anxiolytic and possible antidepressant) and Krebs & Johansen, who found very compelling evidence that psychedelic use is NOT associated with pathological psychological outcomes.
The survey itself is completely anonymous, no data will ever be traceable back to your handle on The Nexus or who you are in real life. You have the option of entering an e-mail address at the end to be entered in a raffle for a $25 Amazon gift card, but this not mandatory, and that e-mail address will not be used for anything other than giving you your gift card. All the information will be destroyed at the end of the study.
If you would like to help contribute to the scientific literature on psychedelic drugs, I would be very grateful if any of you would take the time (<20 mins) to fill this out.
If you have any questions, I'll be checking this account off-and-on for the duration of the study. You can also e-mail me, my e-mail is on the first page of the survey, which you can find here:
