Seriously...why did you post that? Why did you phrase it in that manner? What was the motivation behind your words? Why did you take the time to type them?
Did you stop and think about the fact that on the other side of all the cords, wires, glass, and chrome...these computers plugged into this globally interconnected internet...there was another human being receiving your words? A collection of experiences and neurons, of flesh and bones and guts, a conscious awareness, perhaps a soul...
A being who perhaps is a bit of a jackass sometimes, who has hopes and fears and dreams, who tries to be better and sometimes succeeds. A person who is learning, who may know more than you in some arenas even if they significantly lag behind you in others. A person who came to the Nexus because something drew them to this amazing community.
Did you think about the person who eagerly clicked on their thread to see that first reply, only to find themselves lambasted about a misunderstanding?
Did you think about the fact that your words seem to indicate a frustration with the lack of knowledge/experience being espoused, yet offer no explanations, no references, no toeholds through which to reach for that knowledge/experience?
Did you want to challenge an assumption or a belief? Why? Was it to help show alternatives? Then where was the kindness and compassion? Where was the assistance in navigating from one path to another? Where was the signal in your words that you were looking to engage rather than reject?
Did you think about the humans who read your words and the effects those words have on them?
Why not?
I know that all too frequently I don't think about it.
I'll work on it, but it'll be easier if you do too.

In Istanbul, People wrote their blood types on their arms. I hear in Egypt, They just write Their names.
