Hi, I can only post in the welcome area otherwise I would have posted in a more appropriate part of the forum.
I am trying to determine if oral harmine + oral dmt is safe to use while using helminthic therapy. If you are not familiar, helminthic therapy involves delibrately introducing organisms like hookworms into the human body in order to stabilize the immune system. This has been shown to be very effective with a variety of autoimmune related disorders. Anyway, I have added ~30 hookworms (necator americanus) to my system and am currently waiting to see the results which can take quite some time. I would also like to be able to utilize oral DMT however I am concerend that the harmine (or other MAOIs) will kill off the hookworms. I have frequently heard people refer the ayahuasca's anti-helminthic properties but I don't know what component has that effect. I beleive that the tannins in the ayahuasca vine may be the cause.
For reference, my last DMT experiece (before the hookworms) was excellent, it involved 150mg of harmine freebase dissolved in apple cider vinegar + 30mg of DMT freebase in apple cider vinegar. I am worried that the harmine will kill the hookworms. It is a powdered extract that is orange/brown in color and bitter tasting, I am assuming that it still contains tannins. It was extracted from p.harmala by someone else. I have used 150mg moclobemide as the MAOI and found it to be a negative experience and would like to stick with harmine.
So, does anyone have thoughts on the following: - is ~150mg of oral harmine acetate + misc plant components likely to kill hookworms? - will a sublingual dose of harmine HCL be safer and if so, what would be an appropriate dosage to match the oral dose listed above? - what can harmine hcl be added to in order to create a stable tincture (not alcohol)? - does the sublingual harmine + orald DMT last as long as taking both in oral form?
Thanks.

I've never heard about MAOI killing anything other than mono amine oxidase. Can't help you much about this, maybe some other Nexians can chime in and help you out, And about hookworm therapy, you have guts, pal! (no pun intended). I mean, I would hardly voluntarily introduce parasites to my GI. Peace and love.

I cannot wrap my head around this concept. I've heard of people purposefully consuming parasites, but I've never met anyone interested. I'm curious too - I've read that harmala will flush parasites out, but id love to hear first hand experience. I am interested in the removal, not so much the prevention of removal of parasites. Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

I guess it sounds strange if you have never heard of it but it has a reasonable amount of support in the medical community and it is becoming more popular as time passes. It is based on the observation that a whole range of autoimmune diseases are missing from many parts of the "underdeveloped" world. Things like asthma, allergies, and IBD don't seem to exist in many third world communities. Doctors went further to suggest that there could be a direct relationship between organisms like helminths and the lack of these diseases. Studies have been done and the results are pretty remarkable, in many cases, a controlled introduction of helminths outperforms commonly prescribed treatments for a variety of difficult to treat conditions. It seems that the human immune system has evolved with these organisms in place and when they are removed, they increase the likelihood of the immune system going out of balance hence autoimmune diseases. There seems to be a genetic predisposition for a lot of these conditions but that seems to only be part of it. Obviously you don't want an excess amount of helminths but the key to get enough to balance you're system. Here are some links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helminthic_therapyhttps://www.bbc.com/futu...g-ill-swallow-a-parasiteAnd here is a recent one about celiac disease: http://www.abc.net.au/ne...disease-research/5768732Anyway, that's why I am concerned about harmine and hookworms.
