The eco teks i've been using leave me with dmt acetate solutions which are great for dosing orally, sublingual or making snuff.

Its not difficult to make changa from such a solution. just need to base with sodium carb and pull with acetone, which works fine. but i was wondering if instead of infusing the dmt into leaf if one could instead simply base with sodium carb and then use that paste for vaping in a glass pipe. Sodium carb is not combustible at the temp needed to vape spice, so it should not add anything to the vapor, correct ?

Yes in theory it should work fine. While sodium carb shouldnt vap at the temperature DMT does, you could still get some unvaporized hot sodium carb particles coming across that could be irritating, depending on your smoking method. A water bong would take care of that since any sodium carb would stay in the water.

You can also wash that freebased paste with water, which should dissolve the sodium fumarate and sodium carbonate excess and leave the dmt behind, like this:

Let us know how it works out!

Managed to test this. Rigged up a light bulb bubbler, mixed 5 drops of dmt acetate liquid with a pinch of sodium carb (per round) to form a dryish paste that was easy to manipulate. Dropped this into the bulb and applied heat with a tea light candle. The experiment was conducted with a group of 3.

In the first round the vapour took ages to start rising. First there was water vapour as the paste dried. The spice eventually vaporised turning the paste black, i could see embers glowing very briefly as it vaporised. The vapour (once filtered through the water) was not harsh at all and felt very clean. It had a slightly different smell to the fb spice i've experienced before, but that may just be because this was more jimjam spice than pure fb.

The first one who went had a great experience which lasted a solid 10 mins or so at least. The second round there were some problems with the flame and it didn't vaporise as easily. This person went up into what he called lego land, but came back quite quickly. The third round the paste was clumped together and even though a lot of vapour came off not all of it turned black and the resulting experience was only threshold.

So the experiment was a success, in that it's possible to vaporise dmt-acetate liquid easily by mixing with sodium carb. I would never try this without a water filter though.

In retrospect because of the difficulty in vaporising it, I think taking the time to make enhanced leaf would be more rewarding. Below is a pic of the bubbler we used.

I can see the headlines now, DMT + baking soda = DMT crack.
