Hey guys, this is my first post on nexus, so first of all i would like to thank everyone for the great work, keep it up Thumbs up

I've read a lot about sacred plants, their effects and chemistry, and i find them really fascinating, but i think they don't really like me at all.

I'm quite new to psychedelics and i obviously understand that some confidence is required to fully enjoy this world... But, by now i've been 1 year expirementating whitout achieving a proper trip.

I tried LSD (started whit half up to 2 blotters, always got amphetamine like effects) salvia (0,15 x30 extract - slight visual distorsion), salvia leaves (chewed 20g - nothing) truffles (golden teacher 20g - introspective booze) and amanita (don't remmeber how much but just made me sick), at least salvia made the world breath as a huge lung but the effect lasted only few seconds. Was a nice visual distorsion, but i was completely aware of myself, time and space... not really mindblowing. I always did everything right whit A grade medications, reading almost every avaible info before taking my chances.

Recently i even swallowed 100 seeds of datura stramonium after chewing thoroughly, and even though they were deep black mature seeds whit a distincly bitter taste i had only minor physical effects: cottonmouth, slight lost of coordination and sedation, like smoking a joint plus urinary retention (yeah i know stramonium is dangerous and not recreational bla bla bla).

Recommended starters doses are really psychoactive for someone or they works thanks to placebo effect? So could my problem be only psychological (too much self control)? Or innate tolerance plays that a big role?

In few words i can handle bigger doses whitout killing myself or it just mean that pshichedelic threshold is dangerously near overdosage for me? I guess that physical and psychological tolerance doesn't necessary come togheter...

Now i'm gonna try ayahuasca and i'm wondering what could be a heavy but still handable dose. I was thinking about 5g syrian rue 10 chali 15 psychotria for each dose (bought from maya). What can i do to reduce the physical effect of big amounts of medicine, enhancing visuals? Any helpfull admixture? I guess smoking cannabis helps but i'm a bit concerned about imparing my short term memory before tripping.
What's the difference between capsulating rue or doing a tea?
Reducing the brew make everything more difficult to hold in your stomach? Does it harm the potency? Does puking harm the potency?

Sry for the probably dumb questions but as i said i'm a newbie, i know that many info i need can be found already on the forum but there are so many conflicting topics that i'm pretty lost... Embarrased

And sorry for the bad grammar!

P.S. I don't know if i'm posting in the right section

That's pretty interesting. Salvia can be lacking visuals, it is more of a mind psychedelic, so maybe what you experience with salvia is not that strange at all. LSD, on other hand should be very visual, especially with two hits that you took.

I don't know what to say. Go, try ayahuasca if you want. You'll know if it's working or not only when you try it. I certainly hope for the best. Smile

Peace and love.

Try eating mushrooms before brewing your own aya. Eat 2-4g dried psylocybe cubensis mushrooms after eating lightly all day with no alcohol for at least 48 hours prior. Try it either during the day or at night (both are recommended). Basically, you sound like you haven't had a full blown, extended psychedellic experience and it's hard to miss with psilocybin mushrooms.

Hi Guineapig,

Welcome to the Nexus.

When I started experimenting with psychedelics I found I also had a pretty high tollerance for most of them or that I found the states that others thought were psychedelic only mildly effective at all. Two hits of LSD doesn't mean much, if you don't know how much was originally on the blotters and how it was stored / for how long it was at room temperature or exposed to light. Also, guessing that you probably didn't make the blotters yourself, you don't know with certainty that it's really LSD that's on there, no matter how much you trust what "they" told you. They probably don't know either. With truffles I've also heard that they are not always as strong as websites make them out to be. With dried shrooms if they are stored long and in less than ideal conditions they also lose potency, so it's important to get the good ones... Salvia for me has never worked, so I don't think you're on the wrong track - you just need to take the right dose of the right psychedelic.

Luckily with psychedelics such as LSD and mushrooms the lethal dose is very very far away from effective doses, even high doses. If you want to learn more about this please take a look at the OPEN HYPERSPACE TRAVELER HANDBOOK (see my signature for the link). I have a nice table of safety-ratios in there that should give you confidence to explore and find the right dose for you.

Probably the best way of all to get psychedelics (IMO) is to grow your own mushrooms. This to me seems like the most ecological and interesting way. After you dry them you can try 2-5g of really really dried mushrooms and you should definitely get somewhere. If that does doesn't work try a bit more, but start with 2-5g or less just to make sure you don't freak out.

You can find growboxes or start from spores and do the "PF-tek" to grow them, and in a few weeks you could have your very own mushrooms. It's great fun and a very nice way to build a relationship with the psychedelic and the altered mindstate they will produce, before you jump in.

THere's a lot of factors that can go wrong or lead to unsatisfying/weak experiences, especially when using "starter" doses, which are not fully psychedelic but sort of borderline. If you are in the right mood and your metabolism is just right, they might give you a full-on trip, but if you're resisting for some reason or your metabolism is not right (e.g. a full stomach) then you might get just a little buzz. That's why personally once I know the substance/batch is safe I like to go for slightly higher doses, to make sure I can have an immersive experience. Try to get the set - your surroundings - right, so that you're not unnecessarily distracted by people or other things, which might reduce your sensitivty for the altered state.

There are a lot more tips that could help you get started in the OHT-Handbook in my signature.

good luck

Yeah i know that there are many different molecules used for making blotters, purity drastically change and the storage plays a big role aswell, while is pretty surprising to hear that salvia doesn't works for everyone. I've read about "hardheads" that can't get any effect chewing but smoking extracts is portraited as a powerfull experience.

That guide will come pretty handy but it doesn't really answer to my main question. There are ppl out there that experience only the physical effects of certain substances?
I know that LSD and psilocybin are quite safe but i'm studying botany and i feel a deep interest in nightshades family and other semi unknown entheogens, i was planning a deep experimentation on digitalis purpurea, desfontania spinosa and varius species of hedera this winter (i know it can sounds stupid expecially for a beginner) Smile

Cropping in few weeks sounds intriguing anyway, i guess some golden teacher will be a better gateway, thank you for the imput Pleased

There is a reason why most people stay away from nightsahdes - most of them are dangerous. There is a reason why commonly people think these plants are poisonous - they can kill you if you don't dose correctly. Personally I have always been fascinated by datura and belladonna plants but after investigating have decided it is not worth the risk of a) killing myself and b) ending in the mental ward for 3 months or worse and c) feeling sick, doing things completely unconsciously, peeing my self and not being able to focus my eyes for a week or two after the experience.

I've never heard of people "only experiening the physical effects of certain substances", when talking about the classic psychedelics. In my opinion it is simply a question of dosage and readiness to let yourself go. However, with a high enough dose, which will still be far away from a potentially lethal dose, even if you are not ready and resist you will end up mentally altered for the duration of the effects. For some people and phases the threshold of buzz vs psychedelic can be high. But in your case it could also be that you just didn't have good quality products.

I've never heard of anyone using foxglove (digitalis purpurea) as an entheogen and on the internet I can't find any information of its use as such. I wonder what you are trying to achieve with experimenting with a plant that can kill you if eaten two to three leaves and is said to contain substances that affect the heart muscles? I don't think anyone here on the forum will encourage you to play around with this kind of thing. Please don't.

Hey Guineapig, Welcome!

I side with Enoon on recommendations. The night shades are probably best left alone. I grow datura, and I LOVE watching it flower. It's such a beautiful plant, and has a lovely smell. I have never eaten any of it, and don't plan on it. The person who gave me the seeds said that it was not pleasant.

I think you should grow the mushies. It's SOOOOO rewarding. I am an advocate of high doses if the individual feels comfortable. I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, but I like the 7-5gram range. It'll do the trick.

If someone was trying them for the first time, I recommend 3-5g.
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.
