I am wondering because I feel a bit awkward only being able to post in the welcome section. Apologies if I have posted anything that doesn't fit the criteria of the welcome section, but some things you just cannot share with people outside of here, and some things are just too damn profound to keep to yourself. So, how do I get permitted to post elsewhere?

basically as long as it takes for ten full members to decide to vote you into being a full member.


for some people... that never happens (a la shoe and POADS).
but for most it just takes time.

the more knowledgeable and helpful your posts are, the more likely they are to garner some upvotes

Also there's nothing that is inappropriate to post in the welcome section that isn't inappropriate anywhere else on the site as per the Attitude. Anything you would wanna talk about in another section is fair game in the Welcome discussion.

... Except research chemicals.
