So I am wondering if anyone has any data on the concentration of dmt in young mimosa roots. Most I've read indicates that one should wait at least 2 years before harvesting the roots of a new tree, and that only the inner root bark is of any use.
But after reading the thread on
air layering as an idea for sustainable mimosa cultivation, i've been thinking that if i could harvest the new young roots from the layering in the same way one would harvest leaves it would be ideal. But it would only be feasible if the whole new roots have a decent enough concentration of dmt. Not necessarily as high a concentration as the inner root bark, but good enough so that say 500g of new roots might produce say a gram of spice (0.05%).
Any thoughts or data related to this would be much appreciated as I will soon begin cultivation.
I'm also wondering why the inner root bark has the highest concentration of dmt of the whole tree. Does anyone know WHY it is highest here?
