Let me start by saying that the nexus truly is in a league of its own. I've been meaning to sign up for quite some time, but I always seem to forget each Saturday. I'm always telling my closest friends that's is by far the most mature and intelligent website on the internet. Back when I initially became interested in ayahuasca / dmt, I would be reading online and would always see people refer to the nexus. I figured it was just a new age mumbo jumbo site, until I read through it that is. I love the evidence based scientific mindset of this site.
Anyway about me..
I'm 34 yo make from the city of Nola. Although I'm a city boy, I have lived in a one-horse type town in the southwest for a couple of years. And since my home town is not what you would call anglo-american, living in the small town as well as other cities, gave me a sense of the uniqueness of my own culture. Nola is a port city, therefore very diverse. This is also one of the only places in the us which did not kill or expel it's Native American population.
I first became interested in psycedelic plants when I was around 16. We had just gotten an internet connection (remember dial-up?), and I found erowid.com and read about ipomoea spp. At that time, I didn't pursue that route further, as LSD was plentiful. So I used LSD countless times, but I had no clue as to it's pharmacology, I was using it recreationally. Around the year 2000, the acid dried up and I took a decade-long break from psychedelics.
So one day, about 2 years ago, in the old west town, I remembered the morning glory seeds. So I drove to the nearest Home Depot 50 miles away and bought 8 packs. I took 150 that first time and my life hasn't been the same since. I knew from the geometric patterns that there was more going one than simply being intoxicated. I read all about morning glories. Learned their history and that they are sacred. I experimented with various preparation methods, and found what IMO is the simplest, most effective method of CWE. I was now squarely on the path..
Then, somehow, I learned about ayahuasca. Perhaps it found me. I ordered seeds for several sacred plants. I wanted to order ACRB and SR, but before I did that, I made sure that I had a self sustaining garden for the future so I wouldn't need to keep ordering material. By the time I did order it, I had a nice little garden going (various ipomoea spp, HBWR, desmanthus, phalaris, mimosa tenuiflora, mimosa strigalosa, brugmansia, a volanteer albizia, among others)..(one of the chacruna seeds I planted in feb. just sprouted btw). My next plant will be acacia confusa and B. Caapi.
My first experience with acacia and rue was truly life changing. I looked online for what dose to take, most people said 10 grams of acacia. So being cautious, I took 5 with 3 grams of harmal. It was intense, and awsome. That night I learned (and this is only my opinion, I can't prove this) that the plants have their own agenda, that Gaia is intelligent. I was asked, "who do you work for? Us, or the forces bent on destroying us." I replied, "I work for you!"
Since then I've had ~15 experience with ACRB & Syrian Rue. I've experimented with various admixtures, including one that I've never seen discussed which produces very interesting results.
I also learned that the regular acacia confusa tree bark works just as well as the root bark after accidentally ordering tree bark once.
I also enjoy exploring for wild plants. I have found several locations with wild desmanthus (they get a lot bigger than people think). Passiflora and even acacia trees growing at a municiple park, which I hope you all can help positively id.
So I guess that's about it, thanks for having me.
