This is something ive been wanting to do and I feel its long over due. This forum has literally been one of the most important pieces of getting my life back together. 160 days ago, I stopped using heroin after a year long addiction brought me to the darkest places I've ever been and I saw parts of myself I didn't even want to know about. Being only twenty years old, I'm very glad to have kicked that habit early. The nexus has given me support through a lot of tough times, and If you read prior posts of mine, you will are thatiI have went from a depressed, lost soul to someone who has a vast appreciation and desire to live this beautiful life to its fullest. DMT itself has helped me more than ANYTHING in terms of personal growth..... but the integration of the experiences wouldn't be possible without all you beautiful people. I know I post a lot and I'm sorry if I crowd the forum, but this is literally the only place I can express my ideas and beliefs and be welcomed with open arms. I wish we didn't have to hide behind computer screens, because if I could meet all of you I feel like it would be amazing. Ive never seen such a large group of like minded individuals. No matter what the issue is in my life, I can always depend on the nexus to guide me and offer advice. Since me coming a member here, I have broke free from my mind and have taken steps to fulfill my purpose, which I know is becoming a shamanic healer. I have just registered on work away and am in contact with a retreat center that I will be working for as a tour guide, a retreat organizer, and a researcher of the medicinal plants of the amazon. I feel like my life is finally aligned with my higher purpose and it wouldnt be like this if it wasn't for this forum. Thanks so much to trav and all of you for making this experience so beautiful. I love you all unconditionally.

Love you too, Tyler! So nice to hear you kicked the habit. I have seen what heroin does to people and have had good friends die from it. I haven't been on the Nexus as much as I used to, or haven't posted as much as I used to, but this place is too special for words. Good luck on your future clean path DK

Everything is always okay in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end.

Your gratitude epitomizes the beauty and magnificence of life to me on so many different levels. Thank you or writing this. With love. Whenever you are immersed in compulsive thinking. You don't want to be where you are. Here, Now.

Congratulations on finding a positive new direction! I'm sure you are aware that this will be an ongoing push for much of your life, which isn't a bad thing if you've got the focus. The one thing I'd say here is that of all the people I've known who have struggled with opiates, the ones that saw the greatest success were the ones that found something creative to focus their energy on. Being idle almost invites slipping backwards. You are off to a good start with your visionary art, and although it's just some early steps in a potentially long journey, that's an extremely constructive and positive place to put your energy. We have a great little art community here at the Nexus and we share tips, collaborate etc because making art is a reward unto itself. When people ask how I can spend so many weeks or months on an art piece, I explain that the goal isn't to finish; the goal is to be there at the easel, participating in the ongoing act of creation. Having finished art to share with others is just a bonus to sweeten the deal.
There are some tutorials that you may find helpful in the "official art tutorial thread" in music/art/lit. Also, anytime you post art, you will generally get only positive and encouraging feedback. If you want more critical feedback, you'll need to state that in your post (looking for critiques please). I run a forum for tattooers where I do critiques daily, and am experienced at giving constructive feedback. In general, all the members here will give constructive rather than destructive criticism.
