Hi
Added myself here because i got a pachanoi from a friend and i will be needing advice on a few things. So maybe i can tap into the knowledge here.

I know it is no really polity to do this but i do think this is an emergency situation so i will ask this question now. I got a pachanoi from a friend. It was a stump with two small babies on it. The stump rotted away but the two babies are still alive. And i wanted to know what to do with them.

I removed them from the rotten stump. I have put them in a warm dry spot (its always 30 centigrade here).
What next?
Sorry for this maybe very rude introduction question but i do not want to lose the babies!

Thank you CS.
I will go and find sulfur powder. I do live on an island where things are not always easy to find. But i will look at the drugstore and also at a garden store.
This sulfur powder will kill pathogens and stop the rot?

Then after i apply the sulfur i will let the wound heal.
After that pot the two babies in appropriate potting soil, with rooting hormone and let them grow roots?

Thank you!

After applying the sulfur powder (aka flowers of sulfur, or sublimated sulfur), I would try to avoid any moisture for at minimum 3-4 weeks. After a month or 1.5 months, I would lightly water with rooting hormone in the solution.

I'm no expert on cactus rot. Hope all goes well.

I would try making sure you have a good sterile cut, far from the last reaches of the visible rot. Sulfur powder certainly a bonus here. Keep them out of the direct sun and allow the wound to dry over thoroughly for about a month as Cosmic Spore said. Hopefully they will root. Plant them in a good dry cactus soil mix. Hope they pull through for ya Thumbs up
