After I've looked arround I'm not sure I'm dealing with emulsion I was stirring 100 ml of naptha in 100g of lye in 500 ml of water with 100 g of mhrb in a very large measuring cup in hot water, when I transferred it carefully into a large mason jar it appeared as there was no longer naptha in the jar I let it sit all night no more separation....just a tiny layer of naptha

Thumbs down What the hack did I do....

You need more water..it will be too viscous...just add another 500ml and warm it up.
Also add 80g of regular salt to the mix...Thumbs up

Killer, thank you!

So it's not emulsified?!

I don't mean to be a parrot but just throw in 80g of salt, warm it up and add 200 ml of water?

Not extra naptha or lye?!

Thanks again for being so quick your a life saver Thumbs up

That is the tech I've been following;

Between step 9 and 10 I poured it off into a new container to pull it and the naptha dissipated! Granted I sikipped on step 6and 7...

You'll know if it's an emulsion because it will look like a layer of tiny bubbles between the base mix and the solvent.

Add 500ml of water to the jar...so it's more watery. (around 900ml or litre total) leave enough room for your solvent.
Add salt (if you havnt already) as it will help with the extraction (and emulsions)

It is more practical to saturate 200 ml of water with salt and then add that. Just boil the 200 ml with an excess of salt until no more dissolves (compensate for water lost to boiling off), let the brine cool down a bit and then add it.

So I threw in 500 ml of water and 80g of salt, warmed it upwaited a few hours verry little naptha was there so I threw in 100 ml stirred 4 times and went to pull and the naptha came out Amber/reddish Surprised so i Stop and figured to post befor I went ahead and crystallized....

What should I do?
The olny thing I can think of is to freeze precipitate see what happens and clean it up with naptha or another solvent?
Hopefully some one has a trick up there sleeve.

pre-thank you!

I can attach pictures if I can figure it out.
