This avenue of research has really provoked some thought.

If these receptors could be targetted alongside a psychedelic and the subject didnt experience any hallucinations then it could provide deeper insight into the mechanism of psychedelics and the treatment of psychosis.
Note I say 'mechanism' , not validity.
