I am curious what Nexus members might think of this idea. It intrigues me, but I don't yet have the insight to know if it is wise to be curious about combining the two.

I would rather combine other psychedelics with it (very carefully), only because of the possible nausea and front/rear purging that can be involved in aya experiences. Not so fun when your in a tank! That said I have had very nice experiences on lower doses of harmalas in a float tank (mixed with melatonin). But I'm very familiar with what amounts of harmalas I need to take before purging becomes a possibility and steered clear of it. It takes a pretty psychedelic dose for me to purge on harmalas, but that amount can be much less if there are tryptamines added to the mix.

I also would only consider mixing float tanks with psychedelics after becoming familiar with both on their own first, obviously. And I'm told that it's best to have whatever your taking kick in during the float experience, as opposed to beforehand. Getting into a tank on the comeup would make it much harder for me to relax into the experience, and relaxation is key when floating. Don't get any salt water in your eye and please be very very careful if you decide to do this.

Floating is incredible not only for journeying but physical/mental health, and fortunately seems to be exploding in popularity right now

While that much may be true, an easy workaround I would imagine would be to enter the tank only after purging, if that fully alleviates the nausea. I've personally never had any problems with rear purging on aya, but that's just me. That being said, I'd imagine ayahuasca could actually lend itself well to the tank considering that under the influence of aya, there is usually a high amount of ataxia causing you to not want to move around so much. If anything I probably wouldn't wanna go in the tank on LSD because it has the opposite effect on me where it makes me want to get up and move around, and constantly change position. With all that being said, I've never been in a tank at all, sober or otherwise, but it's always been something that I've been curious about.

Although I have not experienced Aya yet I feel mushrooms are more suited for an iso tank. As well as pot brownies. Even small doses are beneficial especially if you already have experience using an isolation tank.

I will be trying changa while in an iso tank eventually. I believe that will be a great combo. I tend to stretch out my dmt experiences by just continuing to lay still even after I have come down. I think doing this whole in an iso tank would create a more powerful effect.

Vovin's Flight of the Phoenix combines them (float tank and DMT) though not at the same time (and not Aya). An amazing read and a testament to the power of tanks with or without substances.

I would personally make certain I had tried both to their fullest before combining.

I can see it being pretty easy for a person experienced with both to work around the purge, but it's something to definitely be cautious about. You also have to consider that most people will be in a public place before and after the float experience, and walking around there on aya is typically going to be much more difficult than say on mushrooms, and this would make purging beforehand more complicated too.

and IME, and from what vovin has told me, it's really worth it to have the substance/plant kick in during the float experience instead of beforehand. But there is no doubt other approaches can be useful.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking that I wouldn't do it until after the purge. After reading you post, I don't think it would be a good idea at all.

Maybe after the comedown to process the journey.
