I went hiking this weekend. I had found information stating that Desmanthus illinoensis is native to my local area. I've been on the lookout for them for the past few weeks. I believe that I found some. I collected two, sustainably - by digging up thee roots. I took the two smallest, leaving the larger ones to continue their growth. The smaller one of the two seems to have completely recovered from the transplant. The larger one is struggling a bit, but I'm trying really hard to make it comfortable.

In reality, it will be hard to ID until they flower, but I have a pretty good feeling.

Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

im not sure if its been proven , but someone has said that the whole plant contains DMT not just the root. its worth looking into if these are Desmanthus.
It feels familiar , for good reason.
