I am hoping to heal from PTSD using Iboga or other plant and hoping to get some feedback from others who have been healed by these plants for PTSD and depression. -Marcos

I do not have any first-hand experience with PTSD and plant medicines, but a recent study indicated that psilocybin may have some potential to treat PTSD. This should be considered preliminary evidence, as it is far from proof, and I hope to see more research on the subject.
I have seen some research (sorry, can't find the links at the moment Sad ) which suggests that psilocybin/psilocin and LSD may be useful in treating depression, and my own first-hand anecdotal evidence would suggest that psilocybin/psilocin have an extraordinary power to heal depression and similar disorders.

MAPS has conducted a fair amount of research on MDMA therapy as a treatment for PTSD, and the results have been promising. But MDMA is not a plant medicine, so I will leave it up to you to delve into that further if you so choose.

I don't have any first or second-hand experience to share regarding PTSD and psychedelics, but I hope my response has at least been somewhat helpful in directing your research. I wish you the best of luck Smile

Iboga is a strange, potent and wonderful healing medicine, however it may also display some neurotoxic effects so please do your research and make sure you know contraindications and dosage.

Knowing mushrooms have helped me with my own emotional distress I feel they may be a more qualified medicine for treating PTSD. I highly recommend having a qualified guide/sitter who has experience using entheogens as medicine help you with this as it may be counteractive if you take the plunge alone and have anxiety.

Thank you for the kind information. I have tried mushrooms once and will do that again. I have actually been more and more keen on experiencing iboga or ibogaine and was interested in going to one of the centers, possibly in Costa Rica. Since i did not get a reply on my other topic, I am asking if anyone has information pertaining to the centers there. The main ones I found were Iboga House and Iboga Love (they seem related with the same people) and Iboga Wellness. I am also open to other suggestions and countries. I just want a trustworthy and reputable center. Thanks for your feedback! I will keep everyone updated on my condition after these experiences.

I empathize with you in your search for healing, and applaud your bravery in seeking out help from along this route. These ancient plant medicines, like ibogaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and dmt-containing plants are revealing themselves to be the answer to some very modern problems, they are the tool that has been missing from mental health treatment toolbox, and are poised to revolutionize the field. I have a theory that probably falls somewhere in the Gaia hypothesis that psychedelic plants reveal themselves at certain crucial times in evolutionary history, renewing their purpose with each iteration. There's a reason that a place like this exists here, now.

I have suffered from PTSD for a long time, and my initiatory 5-meo DMT experience went alot further towards healing from that in 12 minutes than years of various "treatment"options. What it did for me basically, is provide a spiritual foundation, and awareness of something greater than myself, and among other things that my pain was temporary, and eternal, and only I had the power to remove it. However,I went into that experience alone, and without guidance didn't get the full benefit, I'm sure.

Its powerful stuff, DMT, and the other commonly used psychs for healing- mushrooms, ibogaine, mdma. What makes you so set on the ibogaine route? From what I understand, ibogaine is focused more on the treatment of addiction than PTSD. What about ayahuasca? There has been promising research and plenty of anecdotal evidence to support its efficacy for PTSD healing. I guess mushrooms aren't what you are after, but as aftercare, you may want to look into micro-dosing if you suffer from the depression that often accompanies PTSD. It has been very helpful to me, where anti-depressants have not. The only downside has been lack of access. If you live in a climate where they proliferate (and that's everywhere if you're astute enough to find rarer species), you can gather enough medicine to last a year in one season, if your lucky (or know what your doing,ha). Plus you can grow your own medicine easily.

Congratulations on having the courage to face your demons and walk the path to healing. Keep us updated in your story, please, it helps to know what other peoples experiences are with this, since really the only evidence we have is anecdotal.
