The hallucinogenic experience and religious experience have much in common. There are differences but the similarities are enough to suggest that the origin of both is chemical.

In the case of the hallucinogenic experience, one knows (hopefully) that they have ingested a drug and it has altered their perceptions. There are many visual clues which suggest something out of the ordinary is going on. Melting, tracing, the colors, oh the colors.

Religious experiences however seem to come out of nowhere and slap you upside the head giving little clue as to what might be going on. Because of this people may think they are going crazy or that they have been touched by God. If they have a background in religion, perhaps they were brainwashed by baptists bad things can happen.

There is a Buddhist saying, "It takes ten years for the stench of enlightenment to wash off." Remember this saying should you be wandering around and have a religious experience.

Religion is the unfortunate outcome of religious experience. It is a cultures attempt to control and in a few cases cultivate religious experience. In our culture, religious experience is trmental illness extasyeated like a disease. Tell a doctor about your experience and they will no doubt have a pill to cure or prevent any further experiences like that.

One might suggest that the use of hallucinogens is chemically hacking our existing propensity for religious experience to create a state which is similar. There are dangers here. One should not take these things lightly.

I've seen my share of psychodelic disasters. The most common causes were ignorance and lack of respect. Read about what you are taking. Measure your dose carefully. Dose only in a safe environment. If you don't know how you will react, have a sitter. And always remember, it's a drug, the effects will pass.

We are fortunate to live in a world of more psychoactive substances than we can count. We can explore our consciousness in ways not possible in the past. It is every explorer's duty to be safe, to stay sane and not freak out the normals causing them to outlaw even more substances.

I frequently see various retards on youtube talking about their experiences spouting all manner of bullshit. This needs to stop. Those who are interested will find sites like this, we don't need our activities publicized on youtube. The only thing this does is freak out parents and bring down the wrath of the DEA and FDA.

In the middle ages people rubbed themselves with nightshade and lard and tripped out. Shortly after even more people were burned as witches as a result. In our time we have our own witch hunts. This too will pass.

Be responsible, be quiet and be productive.
