How would one go about converting DPT HCL to freebase? Assuming that the available bases were NaCL, KOH, and CaOH?

Simple.

Mix the DPT with a solution of the CaOH (There's a danger of getting TOO basic with KOH, and NaCl isn't a base at all). Dry. Redissolve in a non-polar solvent, strain out extraneous calcium salts, then dry to collect one's DPT freebase.

even easier

get some household ammonia. extract with chloroform or dcm (though xylene would work too)
it's in the DPT Primer on erowid

Oops. I meant to type NaOH there

If you wanna get real lazy, take the DPT on a tablespoon, add 1/3 baking soda, and do it crack style

On another forum, I have read that you can add NaOH (1/7th of the amount of DPT) to water or isopropanol or ethanol. The method that uses water recommends inserting a stirring rod into the solution. The DPT freebase should stick to the stirring rod and can be collected that way. The method that uses alcohol recommends evaporating the alcohol, and scraping up the residue. Does anyone see any disadvantages in using either of these methods?
