When doing gibran2´s TEK after removing soluble impurities, I add vinegar and dilute with water, mix vigorously but the harmalas wont dissolve in the vinegar. Have this happened to anyone and in case, what was the problem?

If you could give some more info it would help. What do you mean by don't dissolve? Have you tried adding more undiluted vinegar?

Ime, if you attempt to dissolve chunks of harmala freebase, it will take a while for them to dissolve. You may have to break up any chunks and or give it time and agitation to fully dissolve. Even after all of the harmalas dissolve, there may still be insoluble particulates in the solution, which are not harmalas.

Please give as much info as you can to assist others with troubleshooting Smile

Well, basically the harmalas float around in the vinegar exactly like they did when they were in the basic solution. I tried adding the double amount of vinager (100ml) and stirred around for 5 minutes but no dissolving whatsoever. Almost none of the harmalas dissolved because the amount doesnt get lesser after a while.

How long is a while? I now have the unwashed harmalas on a plate, should I add 25ml of vinegar only and stir from time to time until it dissolves? Hope I gave you enough information.

Would warming up the vinegar help? The picture shows 50ml of vinegar diluted with 150ml of water and stirred now and then for 10 minutes. It is harmalas at the bottom, no?
