About your post, I think if you feel happy then there is no more to it. I feel you on the music thing, even though I still listen to music. Being creative takes a lot of energy and if you have the feeling you get nothing in return it can become a burden. My problem was exactly the fact that I expected too much from it, instead of enjoying the making of it.
I admire your courage to do the things as you are doing them and if it works for you then in my opinion there is not much more to say!
