Hello all!

So I'm going to try to explain something (oh great..) that happens to me very frequently on DMT. Until today I had dismissed it as something that wasn't really happening, but I am 100% sure after today that something is going on!

When I vape a decent dose of spice, I always get the intense body high instantly, followed by visuals, and the weird trance-like headspace. About half way through the trip (could be earlier or later?) I get this abrupt sense of silence/peace. It is very hard to explain, but it's as if there was a ton of noise going on in my head and then it is randomly muted and everything seems crystal clear. I get intense feelings of familiarity at this point every time too.

The weird thing is, I've never heard the high pitched ringing noise that everyone talks about when coming up on spice. It's always just an extremely physical come up but I've never experienced anything similar to the ringing noise that fellow travelers speak of, so every time this abrupt "silence" happens I am left wondering: what the fuck just changed? A few times when it happened in the past, I have blamed it on my houses A/C unit kicking off in the middle of my trip, but today it happened outside twice in a row so I know it can't be the damn AC unit!

Another way to explain how it feels when it happens is that my veins are tight, and my under my skin is lightly vibrating (vasoconstriction maybe?), and then within a split second my veins loosen, and the vibrating stops.

It's not a negative feeling at all. It is an amazing feeling like 10,000 lbs has been lifted off my shoulders when it happens, but until today I never realized it was something that was actually happening to me, not my surroundings.

Sorry for the wall of text, this probably seems like a really dumb thing to be so baffled by with all the other weird shit that spice throws at you. I just find it so weird that it happens in more than half of my trips, and it is so obvious when it happens: "There it is!"

One of 2 things is going on here:
I don't notice the ringing/noise from the spice until it randomly stops mid-trip.

OR
(I think it's this one)
The intense body buzz is ending before the mental/visual aspect of the trip is over.

Does this happen to any of you?

I have never heard an actual ringing, I describe it more as music, to me it sounds like windchimes, theres nothing else i can relate it to, I hear it pretty much everytime, its one of my favorite things about spice, i find it trances me and when im in space and i pick up on it i know im there and everything is just fine... its wonderful...

DO you have high blood pressure without smoking spice? SMoking spice may be causing an even more increase in blood pressure for you maybe this is why you feel your veins tighten up. Then loosen as your blood pressure stabalizes.

I recently had an experience where I was smoking a sub-breakthrough level of DMT and as I was finishing up the bowl, things suddenly changed, the room became dead silent (even though I had music playing), and felt like I was being pushed backwards into my chair, I had moderate open-eye visuals. It was a little bit unnerving. I thought "where did the music go?". As I came back to normal reality, the music slowly faded in from the distance.

It makes sense because psychedelics disrupt your brain's ability to integrate sensory data from normal reality, so sometimes you might get a disruption in the visual sense, and other times auditory.

I have never had a silent tripp on DMT, I always without exception hear the ringing sound, not just during the come up but all the way through the tripp, it sort of fills my entire being during the tripp and all other sounds become meaningless. I usually think of the sound as a carrier wave that take you to another dimension, i find it difficult to imagine what a silent DMT tripp would be like.

Thanks you all for the replies!
@1911 I do not have high blood pressure. I do however take adderall 3-4 times a week depending on work as a prescription so I'm sure that may increase my blood pressure. It has never been abnormally high though, but the only thing I can think of that would make sense would be vasoconstriction occurring and then suddenly loosening again. I'm guessing like other psychedelics DMT causes vasoconstriction (correct me if I'm wrong please!!) but it's weird to me how physical, and noticeable it is when this happens.

Glad to see so many replies, thank you all!
Hope you all are doing well!!! >:]

I've had the "carrier wave/ringing" only once and that was the very first time I had smoked DMT. Ever since, i've had exactly like you described. Overall it's just an intense bodyload that keeps building and building from the get-go, until I break through. Your definitely not alone there.

And yes, immediately after taking the final drag that's one thing I always noticed, hopes, fears, negatives, positives, they all just dissolve in the face of it, and im left with a serenity. This is pretty much immediately after i finish the drag, especially afterwards after I come down, there's an intense clarity.

Boy is it beautiful.

much love,
tat

The other day I was smoking in a quiet part of the dunes when a (sub?) breakthrough experience caught me by surprise. After I came back and could see my surroundings again through the OEV's, I fled my smoking spot and stumbled through the dunes still utterly amazed.

The sandy landscape looked as if it could be on another planet, and everything had gone completely silent as well, where first there had been birds, the sound of the wind etc.
It wasn't really a peaceful silence, it felt mostly very 'alien.' It felt a bit like the auditory equivalent of the absence of light during a solar eclipse, if that makes sense.

It was not until some ten minutes later that sounds gradually started returning again.

It's more than just silence...it's like complete stillness (or at least a hint at it). I've experienced it many times. Sometimes, it's just a moment, as the "experience" comes on...other times it's significantly more noticeable/longer in duration.

For me, the "weirdest" times are those when it's the stillness/silence, which gives way to buzzing/vibrations and the sense that I'm sinking into/slipping between the folds of everyday reality and then I "fall" or settle into a different reality. The role it plays in those transitions is both profound and eerie, imo.

This exactly!
Silence is only part of it, and for the longest time I wasn't even sure if it was silence or not. I thought my ac unit was turning off mid trip which made everything silent, and stopped blowing on me which is why I felt like it was physical also.
Weird stuff guys, thanks for the replies :]
