I haven't been able to find much info. Thanks much. If there's already a thread on this I'd love a link.

I don't think you can microdose ayahuasca, atleast not if you want it to have any effects other than the taste. In order for ayahuasca to work your MAO enzymes have to be blocked and in order to do that you need to have consumed enough harmala alkaloids so that these can bind to and block the MAO enzymes. If you take to little there is not going to be enough harmala alkaloids to do that and nothing interesting will happen.

Agree with the above. Plus being on an maoi, even a reversible one like that in ayahuasca, is a pain and would probably warrent prudence in your diet if you were microdosing regularly.

Why do/would you want to microdose out of curiosity?

As ayahuasca refers to the vine (generally B. caapi), yes, you can microdose and you will experience effects over time.

I have done this...and there are others on here who have done this as well.

Ime, there is a "stacking effect" with harmalas, regardless of the dose. If you take X amount of harmalas on day 1, you will need less than X amount of harmalas to achieve the same experience on day 2, even less on day 3, and so on. Ime, this holds true regardless of whether you are taking microdoses or full doses.

I have brewed ayahuasca, say 100g, and then taken 1/10th of the brew every day for 10 days. Over the last 5 days, I experienced a mood lift that I attributed to the microdoses of caapi I had been taking. As I had decided to do this in order to combat seasonal emotional issues that tend to be an annual event for me, the noticeable mood lift seemed significantly beyond placebo to me.

I experimented with micro dosing rue and acacia confusa tea awhile back. There is definitely a stacking effect. One evening, after having been taking small doses for about two weeks with the occasional stronger dose at night, I drank a tea with 2 grams rue and 2 grams acrb. I was expecting a mild experience, but ended up tripping harder than I had a few days before when I drank 4 grams of rue with 12 grams acrb. It ended up turning into one of those full on visionary experiences that lasted a few hours. I felt dumb and like I was trying to misuse/abuse these plants by taking them regularly in small doses to try to experience mild effects instead of using them to obtain the full visionary experience that I feel they were put here to help bring about.

It was kind of funny. I started feeling it kicking in only five minutes after drinking it. I knew exactly what was about to happen and thought to myself damn I'm dumb should have seen this coming. I wasn't approaching it with the proper respect I should have and it let me know it. It was a positive experience overall. It wasnt the experience I was looking for but it was the one I needed at the time.

So you can microdose but I don't know if I'd really recommend it. Maybe you'd be better off leaving a plant with dmt out, but I personally feel it'd still be better to save it and use it as part of a visionary sacrament.

Microdosing is a beautiful thing...There has been countless threads on this. Please google things like microdosing ayahuasca/caapi/harmalas/psychedelics/etc and you will find several threads on this site about it

Peace :]
