You're welcome.

For all practical purposes, one may get reasonably clean product by the procedure listed in section 2, to line 36. The chemical treatment involving silver chloride calls for hydrogen sulfide, which is immensely toxic and foul-smelling (at concentrations where others in the area can smell it, you'd already be dead). This is not advisable without a fume-hood and carbon trap.

Another thanks here! Hmm, that process looks and sounds awfully familiar. I seem to remember someone having a flask full of waxy crystals s/p rotovap using some of the procedures outlined in that paper Pleased
All these posts are on behalf of Stimpy, my yellow bullhead. He is an adventurous fish, and I feel his exploits are worth sharing...so much so, I occasionally forget that HE is the one who does these things. Sometimes I get caught in the moment and write of his experiences in the first person; this is a mistake, for I am an upstanding citizen who never does wrong. Stimpy is the degenerate.

this is an old-school invention, I'm assuming they're referring to the halocarbon used to extract, in this case, chloroform.
