Hello friends!
I have recently finished up a course in Environmental Philosophy and I found it incredibly engaging. It addressed concerns/issues that I have about the state of humanity, why we have become materialistic, how that has a physical impact on the earth and how we might find solutions. I finished up my final essay for this subject and really enjoyed writing it. I thought that some of you guys might enjoy it, too. I'd love to have further discussions about the topics touched on in the attached essay, so anyone who feels like a read, have at it and come back to let me know what you think!
So it's about how a cosmic perspective (or realisation of the cosmic self) can inform a new human grand narrative and get us on the path towards an ecological civilization.
I talk about cosmic identity, the astronaut 'Overview Effect', entropy, sacred economics and Spaceship Earth.
Thanks

We are the local embodiment of a Cosmos grown to self-awareness. We have begun to contemplate our origins: starstuff pondering the stars; organized assemblages of ten billion billion billion atoms considering the evolution of atoms; tracing the long journey by which, here at least, consciousness arose. Our loyalties are to the species and the planet. We speak for Earth. Our obligation to survive is owed not just to ourselves but also to that Cosmos, ancient and vast, from which we spring.
