M, 57, living in Mid Wales.

A coward in that I don't trust entheogens unless I've either grown them myself or picked them myself.

Mid Wales. The Gods shine down on us particularly nicely in the autumn when Liberty Caps are widely available on the hillsides (max crop this year was 700 in one day!)

I had a friend who, some years ago, provided me with seed to grow henbane, thornapple and poppy. The first and third of these have fallen by the wayside, but I still grow datura stramonium every year in pots in my kitchen window. (I've tried planting them out but we're near the coast and I don't think they like the salt.)

Lately, though, I've spent a lot of time working abroad, much of it in Azerbaijan. Out here I have found two plants of interest - another form of Datura (Inoxia I think, though it might be Metel), which grows as a fairly common weed plant, and Syrian Rue, which is widely sold in fruit shops as a specific against the Evil Eye, but which I have also found growing wild in one location.

Enough for now.

Not cowardly in the slightest. I have the exact same approach as you when it comes to using psychedelic plants. Too much un-researched, RC to make me feel confident that I am actually receiving what is promised. Even if one has a typical reliable source, that one's source could be tainting the product. anyhow, welcome to the forum Very happy

Daturas, eh? And you call yourself a coward? Hoo boy, I dont know if I'd want to see you be courageous.
LOL.
Rue is a great plant. I particularly like combining it with weed, IDK what the availability of quality herb is in yer area(s), but thats worth a shot...

Welcome to the Nexus. Have you actually tried the datura yet? I would go as far as to say most people find it a very challenging experience indeed.

Yes I've tried the Datura, in two different forms. Firstly as a 'flying ointment' and secondly as an alcohol extract. In both cases I have also offered the product to friends (free of charge - don't worry I'm not a dealer) in group situations, some of whom used significantly more than I did.

The flying ointment is relatively mild in its effects - a typical comment being "I didn't think it had affected me at all until I came down off it and realised that I had been high".

The extract can give the full blown Thornapple effect. One person who tried rather more than was wise was sick all night, and in the morning had to catch a bus back to London - about a seven hour journey on the coach. She spent a long time chatting with the bloke next to her before eventually realising there was no-one sat next to her. The following day she phoned me with "Hey Allan. The blindness - does it pass?". Of course she was not really blind, it was just that her pupils were still so dilated that she couldn't focus in on her computer. I was able to reassure her,and it did indeed pass.

Mostly, though, if sensible amounts are taken, the effects are a reasonably mild 'high' with dry mouth and some pupil dilation. For myself, I've been careful enough to never take it past this level.
