A warning to everyone: daily use of p harmala may result in harm mala.

Once long ago, i dosed 6g seeds as tea three days in a row. I didn't like the effect. It was hard to enjoy. The next day withdraw hit me. Intense anger, depression, crying, and yelling at people i love. A total lack of self control. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I might as well have been drunk.

As if that wasn't enough, i later tried smoking free base harmine and harmaline all day one day. Not pleasant. Day after: withdraw just like before.

Then i tried harmine/harmaline tincture once every two days for a long time. I kept the dose low, and it seemed to be ok. I would usually get an orgasm like rush from doing it this way. And slight euphoria. Then i tried daily use for a week. The intense buzzing became unpleasant by the end of the week, so i cut back to every two days and guess what: withdraw. At this point anger hit me at every dose. After withdraw ended, i cut back to every three day use and that was easy. At that point i promised to never again use it without dmt or morning glory or other plants. Then i cut back to every six day use. Withdraw hit again after the first missed dose. After i was fine with six day use, i cut back to eight day use then ten day use then twelve day use. Until i was using only once every two weeks and only with dmt or morning glory. The withdraw hit again, though for no apparent reason. So now i'm giving up on p harmala use.

My use of p harmala has caused more harm than good. The only good thing it ever did was make dmt and morning glory better (in a way), but on its own it was no good at all. If i want to make dmt or other plants 'better', i will try with passion flower because it has always been good to me. I will also try ayahuasca.

So why did i do it? Because some people report doing so with good results. Others report that smoking harmala extract is a nice alternative to cannabis. Well for me it is not at all like cannabis. I have used cannabis heavily for nine years and it has always been good (as long as i don't wake and bake everyday). I'm more of a mid day stoner. And cannabis withdraw is next to nothing.

I also use salvia daily at times and thats good. There is no withdraw from salvia. I have used low doses of passion flower daily, but that wasn't nice. No withdraw, though. Passion flower in high doses makes for a very nice after glow.

I have used mushrooms, morning glory, and kratom. Not daily, though. All those things are good for me and give nice afterglows.

Dmt is good as long as i trip hard but not too hard. Weak trips leave me disappointed. I have never tripped too hard on dmt, and i have been warned not to.

I avoid using coca, alcohol, tobacco, poppies, coffee, and now p harmala.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

weird..I took harmalas daily for a year with large doses weekly and I never had withdrawls, or got anrgy or violent etc..Never even heard of that. It just felt like it eventually eroded the boundries between worlds for me for a while.

Being tired, sleep deprived etc the next day is not unheard of.
Long live the unwoke.

Related information:

P harmala has been used in Iran for a long time. It is mostly burned as incense and the smoke is inhaled. Some people make bread with it. It must be used after every time a stranger looks at you. If not, you could catch the 'evil eye', a mental illness.

Long ago in Iran, some man was possessed by a demon. He asked the demon how to exorcise him. The demon said just eat little black seeds (p harmala) cooked over a fire with milk from a red cow. Needless to say, the demon may have been lying. As if he even wanted to be exorcised. The 'exorcism' may have only made the demon stronger, little did the poor man know.

In the documentary shamans of the amazon, one of the shamans became violently angry and was yelling. That reminds me of my own experience with p harmala. I know that ayahuasca (which the shaman had been using) is a different plant and should be treated as such, but like p harmala it does contain harmine. So it is reasonable to assume that similar reactions are possible with it. With ayahuasca many people advise that it be done in isolation and with limited eating or even fasting. Now i assure you that i would not have yelled at people if i had been all alone. And i would have felt better with lighter eating.

If you use p harmala (or maybe even ayahuasca) please be very careful especially with multi-day use. And take peoples advise seriously. And it may be best to always add dmt to make it all worth it. I love you all, and i don't want anyone to make the same mistake i did. I did it because people on the internet reported good results. Now i want everyone to know that bad results are also possible.

Everybody is different. Set and setting are everything. I'm glad to hear you had good results. My bad results may be attributable to bad set and setting (stress, over eating, people irritating me, etc).

I will be more careful about set and setting when trying ayahuasca. I may even go to wasi or some place like that. I'm done with p harmala. At least for now.

I've had several years experience with harmalas and caapi. I never get a withdrawal effect from caapi or it's extracts. I have a very weird theory that the RIMA effects of harmine in caapi when in combination with tetrahydroharmine (weak SSRI) in caapi cancel out each other, ending with a complete return to normal the following day and days afterwards, with no lingering side effects or withdrawal symptoms, sleep is undisturbed and natural. nature is ingenious.

However, when I have consumed harmaline by itself even in small qty, the next or same night while sleeping I would wake up in middle of night with sneezing as if the depressant effects of the harmaline were rebounding, I am very sensitive to anything that affects GABA receptors or has depressant effects. I therefore avoid anything with harmaline in it. Harmine does not have this effect on me, no withdrawal rebound from harmine at all.

Hope this helps.
You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. I try to sneak back from time to time under different names, but unfortunately, the moderators of the DMT-Nexus are infinitely smarter than I am.

If you see me at the waterpark, please say hello. I'll be the delusional 50 something in the American flag Speedo, oiling up his monster guns while responding to imaginary requests for selfies from invisible teenage girls.
