Ive been reading a lot on here about if STB work with acacia confusa and i was wondering if it has worked well for anybody. Ive read a lot of people saying it doesn't work because acacia has a lot more fats and other alkaloids, but I've also read successes stories of it working quite well for people. Im not a perfectionist, its my first time working with acacia confusa, so pure whites not a big deal i can deal with yellow, all I've ever been able to get in the past from friends is yellow anyways. Please provide insight before i mess up a bunch of acacia

STB works (somewhat) but I would really recommend spending the extra effort and doing an A/B. STB is going to give you a dirtier end product and possibly a lower yield as well. You will definitely want to clean up your product afterward. If you must do an STB for whatever reason it may help a if you do a defat or two before basing. Even if you defat you are going to want to do an polar wash and possibly a re-x as well depending on what your final product looks like.

If you don't want to spend all the time doing acid boils consider using q21q21 tek #2 with vinegar and lime. This produces quick results like an STB but with a higher quality product.
