Hey guys, this my first post on here, I have ordered some acacia confusa bark and plan to try my first extraction, using a tek I found through google, for the most part I understand everything, what confuses me is when you go to remove the layer of naphtha with turkey baster, what jar should you use, what happens to the naphtha do you just pour it out after crystals form?

Hey there, when I have my dmt in a naptha solution there are two ways I like to remove the naptha. The first easiest way if you have a well ventilated area (outside) is to allow the naptha to slowly evaporate which give the crystals a good long time to form slowly. But if you like to rush things along I tend to seal it in a jar and put it in the freezer, the spice freezes and the naptha doesn't so leave it for 8 hours then pour it out and filter out the dmt. Either way works, but the crystals in my avatar are from a slow evaporation.

Just to clarify for OP, the spice isn't freezing. Hot/warm solvent has the potential to hold much more DMT than cold or room temperature solvent. When you lower the temperature of the solvent the amount of solute it can hold decreases, and it begins to crash out. If you allow the solvent to warm back up it will reabsorb the spice.

You can evaporate it by half and attempt to freeze precipitate it again to see if anything else will crash out. You can evaporate it all the way to retrieve anything left in there, but if you go that route I suggest you re-dissolve in ethanol and let it evaporate to get any hydrocarbons out of the end product. Finally, you can simply put the solvent in a container and reuse it for your next extraction.
