A few steps in to Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek, everything going well so far, got all of the equipment I need (except for a turkey baster which don't exist in this country and the one I have ordered off of ebay will still take a while to get here, but I have a few plans for improvising).

Just wanted to start this topic so that I can post the pictures I am taking at regular intervals and get feedback from you lovely people if I need it, and also for posterity's sake if either I or another beginner alchemist needs to check something out,

Good luck, you can use a medicine dropper or plunger in the meantime most pharmacies sell them.

What plant material are you extracting from? Acacia? Mimosa?

I am using mimosa shredded bark, blended up into Shredded Mimosa 2.0 !

currently bathing the vinegar and mimosa mix in a deliciously warm bath of water.

and aye, I have one of those LSD liquid dropper thingymajigs that I managed to pick up from a pound/dollar store ha! unfortunately this country has no idea what an oven is or how to roast a bird, so basters are out for now!

this is only my test run, 50g mimosa! I have 500g so going to see if this works for me then go ahead with the whole thing afterwards! proper science innit!

I live in a real backwards, conservative country where I only know a small bit of the local tongue and have still managed to procure all the ingredients/utensils needed, so it should be a lot easier for you (depending on where you are!).

Everything is going great so far, now have the first pull chilling in its wee jacuzzi (no direct heat, relax!), so will see how that is in an hour or two.

QUESTION: I am truly shattered after having partied all weekend at a regional Burn, so may not have time to do all the pulls I intent to do (4 at least) before my biological 404 Error shuts everything down. Is it OK to leave my mix overnight after the first pull, put it into a heat bath in the morning, and continue from there? My gut says yes, my limited chemical knowledge says yes, and a quick perusal of google says yes-ish, but I would like the opinion of you guys! Don't have time to trawl the forums as I'm running on empty / keeping an eye on all the alchemy

Dooby, keep an eye on here for pictures to come, hope they may be of some help to you but in all honesty I am just following Cybs' TEK to the absolute t. Made sure I had all the equipment and ingredients laid out and pre-measured, that I knew where everything was, and read the TEK at least 20 times over a period of 2 weeks to make sure everything was real clear! Possible overkill, but like you say, I am hoping for a beautifully pure and delicious yield!

It's T+34 minutes since adding in the naptha and still no sign of any separation. I know this isn't an issue though and need to wait for *at least* an hour, probably, possibly, what what.

Anyone who has done this TEK, how long did you wait for your first separation?

not long for me, about 10 mins maybe.

did you shake or turn your jar?

Heating your jar in a warm bath can speed up the separation process.

Normally it should separated with in 10-20 mins.

Yes, gave it a 'bicycle-pedal' style shake for 30 seconds.

Had sign of first separation 10 minutes ago, I think the jar I'm using may be slightly large (roughly 15cm diameter), so I will decant the top part of the mix into a narrower vessel in roughly an hour and use a dropper to take the naptha out from there!

***Should I add either more naptha or more lye to the mix if I feel there isn't as much pulling as anticipated?


p.s. The mix is in a hot bath, so all good on that front!

If the pH is around 13 then you don't need to add anymore Lye.
To maximise the amount of DMT you pull from your acid boils then you can add naptha in batches i.e 50 mls, wait 15 mins and decant, then add another 50 mls and keep doing that.

How much naptha have you added so far?

Also you should open up the chat, as there is lots of people with more experience than myself.
When I was doing my first Tek i had chat open the whole time, just asking question double checking my steps.

Still no viable separation, been 2hours10minutes since adding the naptha.

tried to put it into a thinner glass to make the separation more visible but didnt work so put it back into the main mix in the hot water bath.

Cybs' tek calls for pouring out naptha after 12-17 hours in freezer, then evap with fan.

however, just found this on erowid.

I have spoken to Cybs and his tek seems bang on the elfmagic, so don't want to change anything about it. Can someone tell me that the above quote is daft?

i highly doubt fans would oxidize the spice.

i would imagine the evidence supporting this hypothesis was correlative and not causational
