Well hello first of all. I've been creeping around as I enter this new realm and have had a ton of questions answered by everyone here. So Thank you all for your input and I hope I can add to the knowledge base as well.

I've made numerous rookie mistakes from the get go, even though I read all the basics. How can we learn without making mistakes I guess?

Mistake 1 well I'm not sure if it was a mistake because you really can't prepare for your first journey. It's like trying to describe having a child to someone that doesn't have one, no words can make someone understand the profound nature of such a thing.

Mistake 2 was doing it alone. I have no friends that have done this and honestly I don't have but one that I could go to with something like this.

I'm sure I've made others as far knowing how much I'm putting on and method of consumption. But I'm learning.

In the last 2 days I've gone 3 times. Each one very different. The last one however I feel I had far more control of what I was doing. I still can not keep my eyes shut or sit still for that fact. However, I was told I was doing exactly what I need to be doing. Which really allowed me to let go and explore my world.

I'm taking a break to let things sink in for a while and my one friend wants to see what it's all about. Thankfully for him I can at least be there and have a clue as to how to help or just stay out of the way.

So thank you all again, I look forward to discovering this all one step at a time.

Hello Smile

Sounds like you've got the right idea. It is an incredible and beautiful experience when your channels are completely open to it and it sounds like you're getting there. Don't go in with any expectations, thats a piece of advice that's served me well. It's always a surprising and new experience

Much love friend x

Welcome to the Nexus!

Did you consider taking DMT orally/ayahuasca too?

Be well!

Come on Endlessness, are you really going to suggest a first timer taking DMT orally or ayahuasca? That is very irresponsible, that is only for advanced users, to go into that state for 4-6 hours versus 3-7 minutes.

Hello alpine41,

Welcome to the Nexus. Always great to have another lurker sign up and join our ever growing family.

By the way, do you happen to be using a mg scale when you dose? I wasn't clear on that from what you wrote. It is very essential when working with DMT, especially during the beginning.

What is your method of smoking/vaping? Do you think you have broken through yet? Again, I was kind of unclear on that from what you wrote.

It can be frustrating tripping alone for some, but I feel obligated to say that when I do DMT right it is a complete transposition in space and time for me, so when I come back laughing, crying, touching my body (that I thought was dead), I prefer to be alone or just have my husband with me. If you do wind up doing it with friends it is important not to interrupt the tripper. Don't ask questions, done assume open eyes means the tripper is down, etc. The tripper sets the pace here and being very still and quiet are important for any others. It just doesn't seem to be much of a group drug for me and certainly not a recreational one.

Regarding control, I know there are many opinions, but I think many experienced users will agree with me that with DMT, it's worth cultivating surrender rather than control. DMT will always be stronger than us. So, as long as I try to surrender and meet everything with love and simple observation, I find things tend to go very smoothly.

You might want to look up some information on smoking technique in the forums. It is important to get your entire dose in fast, like 90 seconds fast, because instant tolerance sets in and once that happens it's just wasting material and time to smoke more. It is also important to make your first hit your biggest one and to hold it as long as possible. I think once you refine your smoking technique you will find that the DMT waters go very deep indeed and are full of ever more novelty and surprise.

At least I hope so. Smile.

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

I disagree. There is no reason why, given a proper dosage set and setting, ayahuasca should be considered less safe than vaporized DMT. I also feel ayahuasca is more healing and the experience is more personalized and easier to integrate.
