Do we already have a compilation of alleged medicinal Uses of DMT or Harmalas or Ayahuasca?
Scientific Papers?

I think its unjust that DMT is classified as a hard narcotic in many Countries.

Its not even a Drug in my Eyes , its a neurotransmitter.

Had he more quickly realized just who they were,he would have shown them more respect.Had he tried harder to fathom their brilliant minds,he would have taken more of their teachings to heart.Had he more clearly understood the purpose of their being,
he would have more vigorously tried to assist them. They were truly honorable; he was sadly prejudiced.
They were exceedingly well informed; he was grossly ignorant. They were totally indefatigable; he so often, and so quickly, gave up. Still, for many years there was a strong inter-species alliance between the Eleven-Eleven of the Half-way Realm, their Seraphic Associates, and their flesh-and-blood friend, a common mortal. Much was accomplished, many profited, and, there’s only one regret...They could have achieved so much more...

Noun
A substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body, in particular.

almost everything we consume is either a drug or a cocktail of drugs.
so don't be afraid to use the "d-word"

DMT is a drug. it is just not as dangerous a drug as say... aspirin (which garners a considerable amount of deaths per year, surprisingly enough).

also i am fairly sure neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, and the like) are also considered drugs.

You might be Right, some of those substances called drugs are considered evilPoison and some Are considered Medicine.

What I'm looking for is a compilation that could present Data ,stating Healing Effects of Ayahuasca/DMT. We all know it's medicine , but the Law doesn't differentiate yet .

thanks man,the MAPS talks are great.
But I was also looking for threads and scientific papers.

Didnt we have a "Healing-Section" on the Forum about DMT/ayahuasca sometime?

There is this book, Ayahuasca and Health, organized by Bia Labate and Bouso, but Im not sure if there's an english edition.

Nevertheless the book content/abstracts can give good idea where to look, authors to contact or search for their publications elsewhere, etc.

There are a few possible therapeutic uses for ayahuasca. In treatment of addictions (mabit 2002). Ayahausca might also work in treatment of depression in many levels, due to subjective insights gained during the experience but also pharmacologically (harmalas are MAOIs, same class as some anti-depressants. THH is also weak SSRI, increasing amount of serotonin (MCKENNA et al, 1998 ). There is one exploratory study showing there is efficacy in treating depression (Osorio et al 2011)

There's a few more papers out there that might be of interest. This one mentions some of the possible areas of work and the difficulties of investigating due to regulation ( MCKENNA 2004 )

Another text about Banisteriopsis vine and it's potential medical applications (De Frias et al 2012)

There's also this one talking specifically about harmine and how it has many useful properties (antimicrobial, antifungal, antitumor, cytotoxic, antiplasmodial, antioxidaant, antimutagenic, antigenotoxic) (Patel et al 2012)

Years ago when I graduated in university my final work was about the therapeutic use of entheogens. I mention ayahuasca, amongst other substances.. Might be of some use for the bibliography mentioned and ideas on possible therapeutic applications. Here's the paper

Hope that gets you in the right direction Smile

Has anybody access to this book?

Is it worth it's price?
Is there a digital version around?
