I have begun an extraction of Acacia Confusa Root Bark Powder using Cyb's Max Ion Salt ATB Hybrid Tech. Detailed information to follow as well as detailed pictures of each step.







Initial Material-

Acacia Confusa Root Bark Power 125grams


Step 1 Freezing-

Acacia powder was placed inside of a mason jar and was then covered with 450ml of distilled water.

This mixture was placed in a gentle hot water bath for precisely 1 hour.

Mixture was then removed from heat to cool before freezing.

Update- Mixture was frozen, then thawed and frozen a second time and thawed.

Update 2- Mixture was salinated with 40grams of Mediterranean sea salt dissolved in 100ml of filtered water

Mixture was then acidified with a distilled vinegar solution to a ph of 2 and warmed for 4 hours.

Mixture was allowed to return to room temperature, then was basified with a Lye solution to a ph of 13, was warmed and then allowed to cool to room temperature.

Naptha was heated in a water bath.

Four pulls total. All very cloudy and already crashing out nice crystal formations.

Back with an update and not a good one. (see updated part of post it got good)

It appears I may have fallen prey to the Acacia Confusa craze. The "root bark" powder that I used so far has pulled nothing. Nada, zip, zero. (yup it pulled fat first cause I skipped defat)

Have two pulls that are evaporating but stopped pulling once I noted no cloudiness, no signs of precipitation on the third in the freeze. Right now I am a moderately sad panda. (was but am no more)



Update-

HOORAH, Patience, and perseverance are virtues.

I SKIPPED DEFAT. So as I am looking at my first two pulls combined I am noting globes of goop forming on their evap layers. I think to myself, holy plant fats batgirl! And back off to the chemistry lab I rush, third pull is checked, it looks like milky white heaven its so saturated. Back to pulling!

4 pulls in total, attempting a second batch later this week. Had an emulsion issue (learned to rock instead of shake), and so decided to call the four good trays I have right now good for this first run.

I separated my solvent, cleaned my drains with the left over basified lye solution, and set the trays to freeze precip. As it was Acacia I may have to fully evap the nap, but time will tell.

The PH meter read 2.89 at its most acidic. I just did not report the entire sic fig. Closer to 3 than 2, and for what it is worth it is already done. Will update today with photos, initial yield and re-x'd yield.

Interested to hear your results. I don't enjoy the repetitive acid boils that I've had to do with my acacia. I have shredded, not powdered though.

Results of trays.

White fluffy crystals on top of an orange brown goo that smells distinctly of indole. Scraped up and weighed it was 2.1 grams. Just over 1.5% yield.

Immediately placed it into a re-x, all of it was placed into warmed heptane, and it dissolved very swiftly. Was decanted and placed in freezer to precip the crystals.

Remaining goo is darker orange-brown and smells strongly of indole. Next extract will receive a full spectrum bio-assay but this time I was not confident in my procedure.

Update- after re-xing I am getting the acacia crystal wont stay crystal issue. It wants to get melty at room temperature. It did not have this issue as a full spectrum powder on top of goo.

It is in the freezer to get the partially melted crystals to harden then it will be placed in front of an ac unit to cool air dry and then scraped and put in the fridge swiftly. From now on I may leave my Acacia goo and crystal mix.

Update. Final yield 1.1 grams orange goo with white crystals. Smells beautiful, not going to recrystallize further.

The only way I got crystals to stay crystals from acacia was when they fall out at room temperature before you freeze precipitate. I just get the solvent as saturated as possible and then crystals will fall out at room temp and then you can freeze precip. to get the amber goo mixed with some smaller crystals.

I will try a room temp precip next time.

All told it was a great learning experience and I am glad I tackled acacia first. When I do Mimosa this week it will be easier, but I will have a comfort that came from acacia. Pics to be uploaded when I get a cord.

I just did a 20mg~ or so bioassay of the goo.

WOAH NELLY!

20mg felt like 35mg, also noted it felt visceral, unplugged, and raw in a good way. And the NMT afterglow isn't half bad.

Goo is goo enough for me as it was for McKenna, good is potent.

I find the acacia goo to be extremely potent as well. I enjoy it more than my pretty white mimosa crystals. Very pleasant.

I followed thick light's tek so that's why I left the solvent at room temp to see if anything would drop out. My last extraction with 454g dropped a ridiculous amount at room temp on the first pull.

The aftergoo I mean glow...

Wow.

I feel light as air. And it feels like the hyperspace reality stuck with me a bit more than on mim crystals. It also felt less playful in some ways.

I much prefer the acacia to mimosa. The NMT or whatever other mixtures of tryptamines, etc. are in that plant I find very palatable. Very enjoyable.

I too have been dealing with the variety of results that happen with Acacia Confusa extractions.

I have pulled a small amount of nice white Crystals, that seem to randomly precipitate out of the GOO.

But 90% is goo of one sort or another. I had a beautiful crystalized Orange Goo: I was so excited! But it wasn't really "dry" crystals, when I scraped it up? It was orange Goo again. Almost like a crayon, not quite. But when I tried it out? Absolute dynamite crystal conciousness. It seems almost stronger than the beautiful dry crystals I pulled from MHRB.
One or two big lungfuls toked, and I don't remember what happened after reality shattered!

I will try again, and describe a more coherent bio-assay.

Weighing the goo is also a pain in the ass. Its like weighing glue? And what you start with ends up glued to everything but the pipe almost!

Collectively we can devise the ultimate AC TEK: with a choice of crystals or Goo?

I'm working on it. any ideas gratefully considered!
