So my friend is trying to recrystalise her DMT, but is slightly confused.
She has really dirty naptha (yellow-green, since leafy material was used) from the extraction.
Can she extract the DMT by re-salting with citric acid, then re-basifying in water, and re-extracting, FP-ing as usual?
Or should she just evap, then recrystalize?

The main steps are easy, as much as they are time-and-resource-comsuming, it's just when she gets to the final steps, she wants to take as much care as possible not to fuck anything up or lose any yield.

Both will work fine. Probably re-salting, rebasifying and re-extracting will clean up a bit more.

Any step you do, you can lose a small amount of yield, but if you do it properly, the yield loss will not be significant, you will only be eliminating impurities but tne alkaloids should be there.

Also, just never throw anything away until the end, so if something goes wrong, you can go back and retrieve your alkaloids.

Nice point about not throwing any basic bark away. I had a few times using powder where the PH was not at the sweet spot, it takes a few times. Its good not to try over 100 grams at a time.
