Hi everyone; I'm an artist with a keen interest in cultural and religious history.
All my life I've had that sense of a sublime identifiable in some artwork, music and personal experiences, but being closed to any notions of spirituality put up a wall that stopped me short of getting deeper than registering the ripples of these feelings on the surface.
This began to change last year. An interest in medieval carnival eventually took me beyond folk tradition to its animist roots, and what jumped out at me there most strikingly was the endemic use of psychedelics. My research inevitably led me to Terence McKenna, who really drove the idea home.
The past two months have been a blur of information and subsequent paradigm shifts on an almost daily basis (I should add that this has so far taken place without the use of any psychedelics).
I joined the forum in search of a community, as well as a repository of info and place to ask questions. Outside of this safe environment some of you might have - like me - experienced a dwindling of like-minded people to discuss this stuff with the further into it you get...
