This is my first cactus grow, and I'm not sure wether it will be successful. Nevertheless, if the plant sprouts ill be posting his progress in this topic. Ill also have many questions. I'm on vacation currently but when I return ill post my pictures. I had 15 seeds, which I think is a small amount? And I split them into 2 pots, they are currently sitting in cactus soil in a plastic bag. How long does it usually take for a San Pedro to begin to sprout? And how long until its ready for ingestion? I've never tried any mescaline or its analogues so it seems right to grow my own first experience.

I'm really excited!

My main entheogen is mushrooms, could someone experienced in both plants try and help me to be a little more psychologically prepared for the cactus experience? Thanks friends.

I love cacti, they are strange plants, without leaves as we usually know them. Razz

Well what more can I tell you about them? It is a pain in the ass to grow them if you have no patience. I have cacti grown by seed, they are 4 years old and are just one foot long. Yep thats right, that equals one dose if I would use it for entheogenic purpose. But they (and for that matter, all the plants) have already taught me a lesson and that is, patience.

If you do want to accelerate the process you have to make some grafting on faster growing cactus.

I have no experience with shrooms, but am also curious about how one can compare the two.

yes you will have to have some patience.

Mushrooms take a couple of months to produce lots and lots of them, enough for years. Cacti on the other hand are pretty slow. Well compared to other cacti like peyote for instance they grow amazingly fast.

And so is the cactus experience, very slow take off and pretty easy to go and flow with it.

Mushrooms I find a much more difficult experience, very dreamy, nailed on the ground or couch, very weird and often scary. Cacti can also be a dreamy experience, but it's also very stimulating and much longer lasting.

If you read a bit in the cacti experience section you will notice that the majority finds the cactus experience easier to handle.

Wow that's a long time. But the experience definitely seems worth the wait.
