Hej Folks!

glad to be back.. I had taken some time completely away from the internet to be in nature, do field recordings, arrange all my stuff and so forth and so on.. the outcome of this is that i released 6 albums in a row.. this was all stuff that needed to be tied up and took up lots and lots of my harddisk.. so rather than buying a new one, i thought i should go ahead and release all this..

so here you go! its not me making the music.. i am just a vehicle for power that flows from the source.. so dont thank me.. because (i) didnt do it Pleased

if you like you can also follow me on soundcloud to stay up to date on whats going on.. theres more to come!

https://soundcloud.com/nonlinearspacemovement

i also made a 7 hour long ambient mix which i had to split into 6 parts to fit it on mixcloud.. so for those evenings when you dont wanna get up from the sofa to change the music, this is quite nice to have.. plus there is a 2 hour mix of dreamy excerpts from my albums on there as well.. if you click play all you will have 10 hours of dreamtime music..

happy drifting..

"Think more than you speak"
"How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? You get rid of expectations"
"You are everything that is. Open yourself to the love and understanding that is available."
"To see God, you have to have met the Devil."
"When you know how to listen, everyone becomes a guru."
" One time, I didn't do anything, and it was so empty... Almost as if I wasn't doing anything. Then I wrote about it. It was fulfilling."

not really no.. youtube, i think only allows aac codec for audio and i dislike the sound of that codec.. i am a audiophile.. i produce my music at 96kHz/24bit and 44.1/24 is as low as it gets for me.. any more compression would not benefit the music.. i have done loads of tests, listening to my stuff at 96kHz vs. 44.1 and its a huge difference.. if you have a good stereo and the means of playing such highres files i totally advise to listen via bandcamp.. those are all highres files, i have uploaded there.. platforms such as mixcloud dont allow more than 44.1.. it kills i would say 30% of what can be heard and felt, when i downgrade it to 44.1.. its room filling music.. and if you see sound as a landscape painting it would be like taking all the detail out of a painting and blurring it i can hear much more detail at higher resolutions.. the ear is a magnificent device and i think all this "i listen to music via youtube" totally kills it.. its one thing for 4 to the floor trance music or the likes but classical music and stuff like that should be played at highest possible resolution! i still listen to vinyl myself.. i just love the sound of that..

by the way.. heres some uptempo music i made in the same timerange as the ambient stuff was released..

i might upload something to youtube if i had a cool video to go with it.. but even then i'd go with vimeo.. better quality!

Incredible! This is marvelous work indeed. I really encourage you to keep making music.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of ambient music do you enjoy listening to? (I am always interested to hear what inspires musicians to create)

@anon_003

actually.. I don't listen to a lot of music other than my own.. the music I listen to the most is nature. I spend each weekend camping in the woods. I take my audio recorder and camera gear with me, spend friday evening checking for animal tracks and set up my gear so I can hopefully catch some wildlife on it. I keep the gear running all night so I catch the transition between night and day.. which is the most active time as shifts end and start. Its always amazing watching the insects retreat as soon as the first birds start calling early in the morning. After a while in nature you know exactly who's eating who - good thing I'm not on that list.. at least not in europe.. Pleased

The time I spend in the woods is my place of power. This is where I draw my inspiration from. I take my 16 hours of field recordings home and at home I listen mostly to my field recordings.. so I can actually take a piece of nature back inside with me. When I lie on my sofa and close my eyes I can imagine being at my place of power. I listen to these recordings, isolating any cool events that happen and in the end I only keep the stuff that interests me.. Thunder, rain, wind, animals..

One time a weasel came within 1m distance of me and stayed with me for about 20 seconds before it went off again.. The weasel is one of natures most skilled hunters and I am still in awe of the visit it payed me. I had a redshifted headlamp on.. animals don't see the red light as a threat. Also the eyes don't react to it and you don't loose your night vision.

When I listen to other music I like to hear my old 70s funk & soul records. When working (I'm a 3d artist) I like to listen to some new stuff.. electronic music of all sorts.. I love dubstep, drum&bass, elektro(not the stuff they call elektro nowadays.. the old skool miami bass style elektro).. but for the ambient sounds nature is all the inspiration I need.. some tracks are built completely of field recordings. Another source of inspiration is playing shakuhachi flute, digeridoo and dan moi.

I hope that answers some questions! Right now I am planning to hike the Pacific Crest Trail.. It will take me some time to save up enough money so my bills are covered while I'm off the grid! Extended periods in the wilds are what I'm after!

Have a wonderful weekend!
