I recently had a mushroom trip in which, very briefly, I glimpsed the being I perceive to be as God. (That's right, with a capital 'g.'Pleased

What surprised me the most (apart from the overwhelming joy and understanding, etc.) was that God felt like my father. I can't quite put it any better then that, it just felt kind of like his presence, although magnified and changed to the point that it was quite obviously God instead of him.

I did some research and found that research has shown that for most people (especially men), a persons conception of God tends to be overwhelmingly based on their childhood experiences and opinions of their father.
Eg: people who come from nice, supportive homes tend to have a more positive view of God, as opposed to people who suffered abuse tend to either come to believe that God is either absent or deliberately vindictive.

Has anyone else had experiences like this, either on mushrooms like I did, or upon meeting The Godhead in Hyperspace?

I haven't seen my father for months, certainly not since the trip (we live in different states), but I'm kind of interested to see what our next in-person meeting is like.

Peace

I suppose I perceive the godhead to be slightly masculine though it is more androgynous. I have also encountered the feminine counterpart with its motherly love. Both kinds of energy/love are extremely euphoric, but I must admit I have a bit of a preference for that feminine energy. There is something so delicate, pure and reassuring about it.

on a mushroom trip i was informed by the sun (who was wearing the face of my father) that god manifests himself to each person as their father (some rubbish about DNA).

it was eerily reminiscent of early christian astro-theological (what with the father sun fertilizing mother earth with his seminal fluid/rain) beliefs.

which i had previously thought to be the most ludicrous part of christianity's history.

now i am not so sure...

my best guess (after considering my experience thoroughly) is that some kind of pantheistic divinity divides itself into "guardians" of sort that kinda watch over his child/children (the sun on the global level, the father on the individual)

really though i doubt we will ever truly guess correctly
