I still have some unresolved questions, i have not found a suitable answers to, or final clarification even after performing extensive research.

1. When to take the DMT? Some say to wait a little, others say to take it with the brew. I've always waited a bit. It seems that if you wait only a short time, the DMT trip is extreme and short (1 hour) and then caapi starts to act for a couple of hours. Everytime i've waited 45 minutes, the DMT trip was very weak, but a lot of caapi action going on.

Do you need the MAOI inhibitors in the gut, brain, or both ?

I figure this isn't too much of a problem with brews high in vine, because even the comeup on caapi which is not felt with smaller doses (30g) is already visionary, so it fits right in with the DMT and creates a visionary and sparkly experience.

2. What to do with the sediment? How to improve the taste?
I found out that if you decant the sediment upon cooling, it DRASTICALLY reduces the effects of the vine....so if i brew smaller amounts (30-50g) I always decant once to get rid of plant matter and then chuck down 30-50ml of thick brew which is full of powdery sediment. It always tastes very very disgusting...salty, foul and leaves a burning sensation on my tongue. I'd love to know how properly prepared brew tastes like! I figured this sediment is undissolved, clumped caapi extract. Can 50ml hold 50g vine ?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Of course 50ml can hold 50g. It is just reduced right?

I hope the sediment doesn't take away from the strength too much because I tried to get all of it out of mine.

As for the dosing after one another.

I took caapi then took a smaller dose of caapi and a dose of DMT an HOUR later and it was intense for 6-7 hours if not more. Hard to tell since I was so far away from this realm. \

But in the end maybe everyone's chemistry is different and I found a sweet spot sooner then others. Who knows.

I would love to find a way to make the tea taste good ;]. That is always one of the worst parts. Trying to down it. Whew. It's not as bad as Pedro tea but still!

I noticed the Chacruna brew tastes far worse then the caapi brew. Caapi is almost tolerable.

Anyway. I will be checking back into this post to see what others will say. I have been asking the same questions.
"Think more than you speak"
"How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? You get rid of expectations"
"You are everything that is. Open yourself to the love and understanding that is available."
"To see God, you have to have met the Devil."
"When you know how to listen, everyone becomes a guru."
" One time, I didn't do anything, and it was so empty... Almost as if I wasn't doing anything. Then I wrote about it. It was fulfilling."

The best way I've observed:

Dose Caapi/Rue

Wait 15-30 mins

Dose Admixture

* Eat a LIGHT meal like 2 slices of cheesy toast after your stomach has settled from the brew - 15-25 mins after admixture or so typically; the earlier the better

And bam, you've got a 6-8hr experience or longer if the dose is high enough.

What I observe - if admixture and MAOI adminstered together, the experience is either a total fizzle waste of time, or it's ferocious. This depends on what's in the gut. Then also if you wait >45 mins, the admixture's effect is diminished in intensity meaning some must have been broken down.

It all revolves around when the gut is actively moving the contents of the stomach into the small intestine. When it hits the small intestine, there is a rush of absorption and if executed correctly, the admixture can hit you with as much of a THWACK as if you had smoked it! The correct execution is described above. The light meal is what causes the shift into the small intestine and consequently the exceedingly rapid absorption of actives.

But if you have an empty stomach it will sit around waiting for more before it goes to the small intestine, meaning that MAO enzymes will be freed up again, creating a weak trip. Or if you have a full stomach then the concentration of MAOI/admixture actually permeating through the intestine is too small due to being mixed with so much food. This will also produce a weak/dud trip.

From what I hear, traditional ayahuasca is a single cup? In that case they have to be using much higher dosages than when the brews are separately administered. Just to throw some guesstimating numbers out there, it's like 15g admixture + 4g maoi in one combo, behaves as 8g admixture inhibited by 4g MAOI dosed separately, due to the gut timing issues described. However MAOI will always be fully absorbed in either case - it is the admixture that behaves as if you had taken more/less MAOI.

Above all, use your intuition. Peak admixture absorption is obtained by timing its absorption in the small intestine such that MAOI is maximal in the gut and building up very well in the brain too. So when you feel it in both places, go forth. Science can only say things about isolated spherical humans in frictionless vacuums, intuition is always with you and practical to real life here and now, and it works exactly as science.

Salt neutralises bitter taste. A pinch of salt in your brew will negate the bitter flavour. It will still have quite a kick to it though! I found this when trying out Iboga root bark tea, which is foul beyond all measure. Add a pinch of salt, stir, take a sip. Add another, repeat until desired level of bitterness is reduced.

As for the sediment issue - I think this is a case of no pain, no gain. Intuitively there's just something amazing about the sediment, it feels like it carries the full THWACK-FACTOR of the brew. When I take extracted harmalas, there is something distinctly missing from the experience in comparison to when I drink a tea and down the sediment portion. The same thing when I pussy out and drink the top part of the brew leaving the sediment in the cup. Aya will make a man out of you yet!

Extracted harmala feels like a recreational drug, a sediment rich tea feels like sacred medicine. This is something beyond placebo effect/expectation bias; the visual quality to the experience is markedly different even 6 hours later. I can take a lot of harmala extract and it just won't get me "there" but a tea at the same dose will knock me flat on my ass swiftly.
