A while ago I ordered some galantamine off amazon.com. Its a compound revered for its ability to treat Alzheimer disease and induce lucid dreaming. Galantamine is found in the the Snowdrop flower(Galanthus spp.) along with a few other biologically active isoquinolines. Namely narwedine, lycorine, caranine, montanine, and tazettine.
I am posting this information because earlier today I was roaming the forest and happened to stumble upon a few of the beautiful flowers peppered around the trails. Intrigued and somehow recalling the look of this flower from months ago when I had first heard of galantamine, I wondered if I could put it to good use. After roaming the internet looking for galanthus extracts and extraction methods and I found the link attached below.

Lycorine is highly toxic. But the idea of harvesting the little guys is kind of romantic to me for some reason and the extraction method posed in the link seems very manageable for someone who has expertise in chemistry.
Perhaps in the near future we can see the evolution of this flower into a pharmacological staple, but for now I just thought I'd throw this up here.
It's ALL information.
