Finally introducing myself! Ive been lurking here (and hyperspace) for about a month or so. Ive yet to fully breakthrough, I dont smoke so its hard for me , and im having to work myself up to it, but during that time, Ive found I get much more out of very small doses, and tried changa instead. I think my main reason for joining the forum is that Ive heard a few long term users state that dmt is a carnival, its an amazing profound experience but that it essensially will not answer questions nor add anything constructive to your life in the long run. I guess I shouldnt let that get to me but it has, as I feel like I have found a teacher, and I have been guided by its intelligence, and agreed to its instructions. Smoking produces a dialogue within me that suggests how I aught to exercise, organize my problems, direct my creative energy and forgive. It may be me telling myself this or external intelligences, who knows, but its definatatly given me novel ideas and understandings of myself. It usually requests I go away for some time and practice these lessons, such as meditation, healthy eating, ect. I definately prefer changa due to this, full on dmt is a different experience entirely for me. much less personal, much more alien and confusing. So , has anyone else found it to be a useful learning experience, a ind of quiet guidence that really does add something positive to their lives?

..welcome samphire..i think a lot has to do with personal approach..quite a few long-term DMT advocates use the 'teacher' analogy (especially regarding plant sources) ..certainly i personally think that meditative use can improve direction/motivation/mental organisation..so yes, i think it's been a positive influence on my life, however i take a fairly disciplined approach, and don't expect 'it' to do all the work for me.. i think your attitude and focus, will get you somewhere..non-expectation and humility also seem to help in integration of use of the molecule..

Hi samphire and welcome to the nexus! I think what entheogens have to offer us greatly depends on how we approach them, and that doesn't just mean our general intention, but also alot of things we don't control as much. It very well might be that in one phase of your life, entheogens are an amazing teacher and open your eyes to a lot of things, because the constelation of your life is just right for it. In other words, you are ready for these changes and the mode in which they come. In other times of your life it could be that all you get is pretty colors and no help at all, or even worse, frustrating experiences that don't quite get you where you think you need to be. Personally, I've been using psychedelics for over ten years now and I've had more than one period in this time, sometimes over years, that psychedelics were not helpful, so I refrained from using them. So I think saying "it's a great teacher" or "it's just a carnaval" is both a bit incorrect. Rather, at the moment, it has this function, or that effect on me. But yes, there have been several occasions in which I've found entheogens including mushrooms, dmt (especially orally) and lsd very instructional, very helpful in my development. That's why I'm here... cheers Buon viso a cattivo gioco! --- The Open Hyperspace Traveler Handbook - A handbook for the safe and responsible use of entheogens. --- mushroom-grow-help ::: energy conserving caapi extraction

I'm glad to see it can be worked with to gain something of value out of , my only psychedelic experiences previously was just two mushroom trips, and those were pretty mild. I've never done any other substances, but I was so curious after the mushrooms I felt I'd missed something important and decided to try DMT . I'm saddened that this seems to have made me go down in some people's esteems as though I've become some kind of junkie, and so there is only a very small number of people I can share my experiences with , without facing admonishment or redicule. I've found it to be so therapeutic so far that I'm saddened I can't really express it to people I'm close to. But yes, absolutely, I think you get the most out of it by working with it. You can't sit back and let the plant do all the work . I've actually learned to hold a meditative state for a few minutes so in between hits I can hold the state of mind. That's a big step for me, I've tried many times over the years to meditate, but I had no idea what I was actually supposed to be doing, and I'd just get bored or fall asleep! Anyway bit of background about me, I'm 30, female, tattooist/artist

Hello. Welcome to the Nexus. Personally i find that entheogens have helped ME find my ways. They in a sense open up my mind and let me take a look at myself and where I am going in life from a different perspective. So, I agree with you that they can help you on your way, but more in a sense that it helps YOU find your way. Hostilis 3... 2... 1... BLAST OFF!!!!FFO TSALB ...1 ...2 ...3 My grafting guide

For me, the pretty lights, telepathic communication with an intelligence of some kind (could just be your sub conscious self), mind boggling geometry and so on are very thought provoking, but they fade quickly and leave me a bit gob smacked for an hour or two afterwards, which is great - a worthwhile experience in and of its self IMO. The insight often comes in the afterglow, when my ego is re-integrating to my surroundings and I realize who and what I am again in this dimension. I realize what games I have been playing with myself and others due to my ego, and each time I am able to get a better grip on it, because I realize it is only a part of myself and not actually me as it would have me believe. This is partly why it is so hard to pin down what is 'needed' from each experience, and it may not be obvious until later, which is why integration is key, rather than just repeated 'blasting off' ad nauseam. I go through periods when I need DMT fairly regularly, and also periods when I don't need to touch it for months. Treated with respect it will help you grow into a newer, better version of yourself. At least this is how I percieve it at this current moment in time Lose Control, Free My Soul, Break Me Open, Make Me Whole."DMT kicked my balls off" - od3

Before finding DMT I was down the path of atheism. Feeling the strong possibility that we are fundamentally par with an ant. Since becoming involved with DMT I feel, life as a human is much more interesting than previously thought. It now feels like a huge mystery. Like we have and continue to evolve in ways I never thought of before. I am reading again, like I used to when I was young and idealistic. DMT has helped me to find more passion for life and to let go of the cynicism I have been building up. I feel there is so much to learn from DMT use, and from the need for further education it calls out of a person. Space is a thing, not a place where you put things.- Terence McKenna

It has shown me that this life is extremely important and valuble. Life in the physical is a chance for growth not experienced otherwise. On the other side I am a boundless sea of highly beautiful patterns that stretches the expanse of the cosmos. I wear many faces. My fears, worries, so on and so forth are mere illusions burying myself layer by layer. My true Self is peaceful, impartial, compassionate, loving, giving, and highly ecstatic.
These are a few things the experience has lended me.
much love, tat
