Hello again everybody, i was just wondering if i could talk my friend into making a video instead of just pictures when he gets his tek down, could i post it somewhere on here with a crazy name so not everyone could view it (kinda keep out of the eyes of the Dee-eeh a) or would this be not accepted??

If it was me I would make just pictures. People love pictures here. No need for video really.

If you decide to make video as well make sure you understand the risk when making video, where your face or voice can be recognised, about extracting illegal substance and then uploading it to some public server.

If I ever made such a video I would only keep it to my self.

I would consider that a video serves as documentation of a crime, in this instance, and as such, is a bad idea.
Videos of drug use on youtube (can anyone say salviiiia?) are perfect for the incitement of moral panic by the media, to both people and lawmakers.

If you do end up recording your friend's method, ensure that your camera doesn't save GPS data (as many smartphones do, and some SLRs, and I would assume fewer video cameras), and if you can, please abstain from posting it online. Keeping this incriminating video in an encrypted form (TrueCrypt offers encrypted volumes and files, very simple to set up)

The simplest thing, though, would be to not record, and simply learn the method from your friend. The less digital and paper documentation you create, the better.

EDIT: (I would also expect that the attitude of the DMT-Nexus, actually, I'm pretty sure, is that videos and pictures, by and far, are a no-no. Pictures of DMT without identifiable information EXIF data, for example, are more permissable, but pictures and videos of active extractions are much more incriminating, and thus not in the spirit of the Nexus, which desires to avoid the fallacies of other drug crowds, and avoid making our drug of choice harder to procure safely)

Maybe use a voice editor and record and audio with pictures included? But a video may not be right at this time. Just mo

Once again, another topic that has been discussed ad nauseam.

New members: PLEASE use the search function before starting new threads on topics discussed many, many, many times before. To highlight our Attitude towards extraction videos:

SWIMfriend wrote:
There is a good reason for not having videos: They give the impression of BLATANT DISREGARD for legalities--an attitude that the Nexus doesn't want to give the impression of promoting.

But those who say "there's no need for videos," or take similar positions, seem to be rationalizing. If you wanted to explain to a friend how to do an extraction, the natural tendency would be to SHOW them--invite them to watch as you did one and explained about it. ALL instruction/teaching is most naturally conducted by "showing," which is just "live video in person."

Making a video is just "giving a recipe?" No, WRITING A RECIPE DOWN is just giving a recipe. How many cooking TV shows and cooking videos are there? There are a gazillion cooking videos on youtube--for every style of cooking or cuisine you can imagine. On many google searches, one automatically finds a video on the results list. Personally, sometimes when I'm doing a search (on just about ANYTHING), I actually search YOUTUBE first, before even TRYING google!

If it weren't for the legal issues, we would have lots of videos of extractions (and vaporizing techniques--and anything else you can imagine), and no one would say they were anything but a normal expression of sharing ideas and methods. There's nothing wrong with videos--after person-to-person expression, they are the most direct way of sharing between people. Videos are what made Youtube an extraordinary internet success and phenomenon.

And directly from the Attitude:

Attitude wrote:
Spreading of the message of psychedelics itself through superficial YouTube videos showing use or extractions can also cause a lot of damage to the community (as happened with salvia) and is frowned upon.

a1pha hit the nail on the head.

however, there are some very nice, pictorially illustrated teks on both the Nexus, and other places on the net, such that you can get the general idea without even needing your buddy to film his extraction. Just take a look around, particularly in the wiki, and in the respect tek threads (where they exist), for a more thorough discussion of the teks, since that seems to be what you're attempting to address by taking a video.

happy travels Thumbs up

i read the attitude and i understand YouTube, i just was figuring it would be safer and more easy to understand if there was also a video to go along with it, also yes i know about trucrypt, and voice editors. he was thinking with safety in mind. thanks for the responses though

Maybe a video on lab safety would be more useful
