Does anyone else feel the odd familiarity of DMT, and other psychedelics, particularly higher doses of mushrooms? Even long after ingestion I have a persisting taste, it reminds me of the taste I had during operations where I've been anesthetized or even experiences I've had as a newborn. The smell of DMT is so familiar that I immediately remember all the places that I've ever been having some sort of DMT like smell. The visions on DMT are the most familiar experience I've had, as though they are the most real reality, and I've accessed them infinite times. Possibly whilst asleep, or before my birth? This familiarity is very intriguing to me, and it almost proves to me that psychedelics are truly powerful and profound. They remind me of things I have never consciously expirienced, how is this possible. Maybe I am always expiriencing these things but am just unaware because of dimensional restrictions? We are surprisingly similar.

I know what you mean, after having blasted off a day prior, I was walking around with my friend and I kept telling him of how I kept smelling spice. I had the idea that I was "sensing" the spice that are supposedly present in minute quantities in a large number of plants. Although the smelling of spice has decreased significantly, my friend smells it more frequently than I do. The latest I have smelled it was when I was at Walgreens in the aisle containing cleaning supplies. I thought it was just the cleaning agents, but the smell was just so familiar it kind of shocked me for a few seconds. I just kept going up and down the aisle sniffing around

the scent comes from the indole ring, which is fairly common in everyday compounds. My wind instrument is the bong CHANGA IN THE BONGA! 樹

I could distinctly smell it the other day when me and few people were digging in the ground. dmt dirt lol. That's interesting about the indole ring, didn't know that. [center]Sophia's Light
In darkest night, when lights are dim, and all in sight seems sad and grim, I find you there, your arms surround me, your spirit fills me and it grounds me. I look to you, Lady of Truth, most ancient One, yet eternal youth,to keep me safe, protect my heart, and with the wisdom you impart, fill up my empty mind and soul,so that, my Lover, you can make whole, all that was broken in this day –and that is what I ask and pray.

I definitely vibe with the 'familiar' phenomenon. I actually don't have experience with DMT, and have little experience with psychedelics in general, and yet, I've managed to create quite the psychedelic life for myself, through extremely excessive weed-smoking and alcohol-drinking that has created shamanic experiences for me. I am sure some of the dreams I've had in my alcohol-binge days are bordering on DMT trips -- I would have to try DMT to verify. But anyway, I have the familiar phenomenon often, and at times really strongly, like I recognize that I have lived this life before, and of course I have, because I have existed for-,fuggin-,ever, and in that incomprehensibly vast span of forever, I've lived every possible imaginable and unimaginable experience many times over. Some'n like that. Here is an entry I wrote recently that touches on an aspect of the phenomenon. Sort of on a smaller scale. http://www.dopedivinity....ost/2013/01/cycles.html
I hope it's cool to link to my website here -- I'm new here so I don't want to come off as a spammer or somethin' -- your post made me think of my article so I thought it was relevant.

Everytime im 'there' I realize that i've never left, for it's always been there, at the deepest recesses of the mind/reality interface. The familiarity is too strong to ignore.

I find the smell of DMT to be something of melted plastic, with a distinctive bite that seems very familiar indeed. I always find myself trying to put my finger on where I've smelled it before, and wonder if maybe it is a sense of familiarity flowing backwards through what we perceive as time. When I first smoked dmt my first thought after inhalation, "this tastes like how old navy smells, exactly the same..." What!? This is interesting because Not only the expirience was familiar but also the physical characteristics od dmt, smell taste We are surprisingly similar.
