Quote:Police identify “DMT” tree bark drug and charge one
Kyle Andrew Toth, 18, of Lindsay is facing additional charges of possession and production of a controlled substance after police identify drugs found in a Russell Street East apartment Dec. 19
(LINDSAY) The Lindsay man who was being detained on weapons charges following a call to Russell Street East in Lindsay Wednesday (Dec. 19) now faces additional drug charges. Kawartha Lakes Police say they were originally called to an apartment building for a report of someone firing a pellet gun and arrived to find a chemical drug lab inside an apartment, as well as a pellet gun, ammunition and counterfeit money. Police evacuated the apartment and building in the interest of public safety, before getting assistance from OPP, Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue, Kawartha Lakes EMS and a hazardous materials team to remove a number of chemicals that were sent to Health Canada for identification. Residents of the building were allowed back in later that evening and Kyle Andrew Toth, 18, was originally charged with four counts of assault with a weapon and possession of counterfeit money.
While the accused did appear in court, police requested he be held in custody considering the allegations that four people had been shot with an air soft pellet gun and to give time for the drugs to identified.
Earlier this week, police laid additional charges of possession and production of a controlled substance that has been identified as Dimethyltryptamine, more commonly known as DMT. DMT is a hallucinogenic drugs derived from tree bark. Mr. Toth was held in custody for another court date Jan. 3. SourceQuote:Chemical drug lab discovered in Lindsay apartment
Russell Street East building evacuated and street closed while officers investigated discovery of hazardous chemicals Wednesday
(LINDSAY) Officers responding to a call about someone firing a pellet gun resulted in Russell Street East in Lindsay being closed after a chemical drug lab was discovered inside an apartment.
Kawartha Lakes Police say officers were called to a residence on the corner of Russell and Lindsay streets shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 19). Allegations that a weapon had been fired at people inside the residence led officers with the Criminal Investigations branch to execute a search warrant. Once inside, a pellet gun, ammunition and counterfeit money was seized. Police say officers also discovered a small, synthetic drug operation. Both the apartment and the building were evacuated in the interest of public safety. Assisted by the OPP, Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue and Kawartha Lakes EMS, a hazardous materials team entered the apartment and removed a number of chemicals, which were sent to Health Canada in Toronto for identification on Thursday (Dec. 20). The apartment was decontaminated and tenants were able to return home around 9:30 p.m.
Lindsay resident Kyle Andrew Toth, 18, is charged with four counts of assault with a weapon and possession of counterfeit money. He was set to appear in court Thursday (Dec. 20) morning where police asked that the man remain in custody in light of the allegations that four persons had been shot with an air soft pellet gun and to allow time to identify the chemical drugs taken from the apartment. Note to self: Don't randomly fire pellet guns at the neighbor while DMT extraction is taking place. Or have random people come to the house at all hours of the night. Wow. Maybe we shouldn't be so open and honest with our knowledge if people like this guy are going to be the ones misusing it. I completely understand the desire to go underground after reading this. It's even making me question my own behavior, and even innocent conversations I've had with people. Maybe not so innocent.
Sounds like that guy should've had meth in his apartment, not bark and solvents.

Sounds like that guy should've had meth in his apartment, not bark and solvents. And by going underground all the knowledge we collected over the years goes poof into non-existence and people will go back to doing their extractions ghetto style using ziplock bags, improper containers or stirring material or solvents. The result: more injuries and less safe use. There are many many many people benefiting from the wisdom that has been collected over the years and that is still growing. 'Going underground' will hurt the people who legitimately wish to explore consciousness using DMT. It will make information less available, making is more difficult to spread the knowledge of harm reduction and those who wish to extract DMT for the sole purpose of selling it don't really care about how they extract it, they only care about monies. Just because a small group of mentally handicapped is incapable of handling the responsibility that comes with extracting and consuming DMT doesn't mean those who responsibly wish to explore the depths of their consciousness have to suffer. If this means one thing it means we have to work HARDER to get people extract their own DMT and do so in a safe manner with the correct mindset. This kid had it coming, firing weapons at people while extracting. But again it's DMT that takes the blame. The spice extends life. The spice expands consciousness. The spice is vital to space travel.

He obviously wasn't "consciousness exploring" sounds more like he was selling them which raises another thing to talk about, selling extracted DMT.

I have little sympathy. What an idiot. “My brain is only a receiver. In the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength, inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know it exists.”

There's always going to be dumb kids, greedy fools, etc. These media stories are pathetic. By the way Snozzleberry, thanks so much for keeping abreast of this ongoing situation.
