Hi everyone,

Next year I'll be extracting and trying DMT, I feel ready for it now in many ways but I'm taking a break from all drugs at the moment. I've learnt so much about the universe and my place in it after discovering psilocybin in the past year, but I have issues to address before I will let myself use these incredible gifts again.

10 years ago I discovered dxm, the first drug apart from cannabis and alcohol I ever experienced. I've spent so long chasing after that first encounter with a profound state of conciousness that I've missed out developing myself into what I could have been; Rather than help me embrace life (which is what that first encounter helped me to do, at the time) I ended up numbing myself to it. The negative effects of this abuse were only subtle, but definitely negative. I'm recovering well now, I'm satisfied that this is the life I have to live. I was pretty immature 10 years ago and probably wouldn't been ready for psychedelics back then.

I'm amazed at the positivity of what I have seen on this site Thumbs up. My chemistry skills are pretty basic, I've done dxm extractions but not often. I won't be on here that often until I feel more prepared, but I hope I can eventually bring something useful to the nexus. I look forward to what I will learn and experience, both from DMT and the Nexus.

Cheers,

Smile

Another Aussie, great stuff Smile
I have performed my first few extractions last week and this week, and once you work out your technique, it just flows, nothing hard about an a/b (acid/base, not a yiros chip combo heh Pleased)
There's plenty of help in the forums from many experienced individuals as well Smile
It's great to see you willing to take the time than rush into it.
I can assure you that you won't regret it Smile

Welcome Sausages, yes, taking the time and care to properly extract your own is unbeatable. Hopefully you'll be
able to connect and listen to the plant throughout the process and it truly helps make for a magical journey Very happy

Hello Sausages,

Welcome to the Nexus. I really enjoyed your Introduction Essay - thank you so much.

Congratulations on your upcoming first DMT extraction and I applaud you for taking the time to ensure it is right. Also, for getting away from dissociatives. I've recently made a strong break from dissociative use myself and I find myself much more positive and full of light rather than bitter and dark.

Yes, the Nexus is a very special place. The Administrator insists upon positivity - it's all he wants to see. Please be sure to take a good look around, to the forums and the invaluable links above the forum pages, such as wiki. I hope you will continue to like what you see.

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Thanks for the welcome folks, and thanks Shane for reminding me of the ol' AB, haven't had one in years! I prefer a more pure yiros experience Rolling eyes Also thanks for your supportive words Pandora, I've lost a lot of bitterness but still have some darkness to shake off.

I've seen a lot of phalaris around so I'll probably try that the source material, there's also plent of arundo donax nearby, both could be considered "pests" around here. There may be a few acacia longifolia around as well, but unless I see a whole bunch of them with plenty to spare I'm reluctant to cause too much damage. The less unwanted negative attention brought to dmt the better.

In the Acacia Extraction Workspace, nen888 outlines a phyllodes extraction, so there's no need to cause damage the acacia tree's, simply picking the stems and phyllodes would work. Smile

I would recommend trying acacia tree's before Phalaris, due the additional required defat process, and toxicity concerns of unwanted alkaloids such as Grammine.
Additionally, I think Arundo Donax has a very low percentage of DMT.
I am not sure if I have read of anyone on the Nexus having a successful extraction from the plant.
All the best. Smile

Glad to hear that, they are nice plants, not really worth going for the bark if there's an alternative. The gramine content of phalaris/arundo is an issue, but I still have a lot to learn. Not too worried about the whole process but I won't know until I try it. More spare time would be handy.
